I'm using HDMI connected directly to the projector.
The purple screen is there right at the power up. No "Philips screen" or nothing, just the color purple. This is before I try to play a Bluray. Original at that.
No problems whith this issue at all on FW 4.19. Not one time. And, other Bluray player plays fine all the time.

BTW Netflix is running better and there is no error on logging in as before ( and I havent uppgraded the firmware yet) Icoulls have to start the app and loggin 5-10 times before.( release of logcode in hidden netflix menu did help)

Thank you for your help in this matter Toengel.
On another note, Asus came out with a new FW witch didn't function optimaly, there where no bugs. Two days later they relleased the new version to offer better performance.
Why is Philips using so much time to iron out the bugs? Why can't Philips be more like Asus? It's just like this is not prioriticed.
I'm sure that all the bugs would have been ironed out during a weekend if Philips would offer the time and effort.

    New(?) bug in 4.22:
Player freezes and woan't power down. The player hangs. Only soulution is to pull the power cord.
This happens when streaming music and when there is a playlist. The player seems to go into a loop waiting for whatever?

This is what Rin experienced, copy from other tread:
"While disengaging Miracast the player crashed again. Did not respond to any button including the power button. I waited about 12 minutes hoping it would get out of this, but finally pulled the power cord."

Dear Philips: what is the time frame for release of new Firmware?
I hope you will release updates more often than we have experienced so far. Further, some new graphics would be a nice remedy for our patience. Thank you.

The pink screen bug has not come again after factory reset. I think it's solved. Rather frustrating to have to reset the player to get it working again, and loosing settings and logins.

Mr. pink screen is back after a long break after factory reset. What I noticed was that the USB memory stick was lit up before power on. This is not the case when there is no pink screen. The power button is red, but the USB light is blinking. When everything is fine, the USB is dark.
Please add pnk screen and random freeze to bug list.
Philips: when can we expect a new Firmware? I hate to be months for a remedy.

    Dear Toengel,

The player freezes both with and without USB connected. After the last factory reset, the player was fine for many days. It seems that the player hangs on something. After power down and the power button led is red, there is still power on the boards. The previous Firmware was fine, no pink screen at all. The Firmware before that, pink screen. So we have went from pink, to no pink back to pink again.

Further the player seems to hang when I have been streaming music for a long time and when there is a playlist active?
It's quite hard to reprodruce this error I think. Can someone else give comments to player freezing?
Haven't you experienced this Toengel? Pink screen or freeze? During pink screen, the player is still responding and there is sound. But the only way to bring it back to normal is to pull the cord.

Unplug cord. Hold down power button for five seconds. Do a factory reset. I hope this helps?

I had the same problem with a USB 3.0 stick. However, with a USB 2.0 stick I could update the player.
