I'm beginning to think of the nice people of Holland as lazy. Can't you even fix one little bug in several months time, as the missing graphics when streaming music/FLAC? And the more serious bugs as freeze and pink screen should have been resolved by now?
Why is this taking so much more time? What is the current status?

    Philips,
Can you fix at least one of the anoying problems? As missing gfx when playing FLAC?
Can you tell us why you don't want to share your time frame for fixing the issues still open, still after the player has been on the market for so long?
And, why has some of the previous fixed bugs, as purple screen, reapered with FW release 4.22?

I've just got an e-mail from Synology thanking me for suggesting improvements on their products, and they said they were eager to implement new and better software based on my remarks.
Further, I had some queries to Asus. I experiensed once again top-notch customer feedback. Both companies replied on the same day. I had some problems with my Samsung television. They called me day after day and helped me resolve the issues at hand. The bugs were fixed in no time.

My experience with Philips is not this good. You don't seem eager to resolve the bugs on this otherwise great BDP-9700 player. Months and months of waiting, and no final soulutions. No new graphics. Few new features. The same story as with your previous top models.
I cannot see a reply to my questions asked on the 05. Of September 2014 on this tread? I'm sorry to say that this kind of service level is not worthy of the Philips brand. Please, do better!

    Dear Users,

Can you confirm that the solution for FLAC cover art not showing works?

Solution: Resize the cover art from 100x100 to 200x200.

    Please let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

Using your own Stremium NP3500, graphics works all fine. The same on all other devices I use including Samsung galaxy phone. BDP 9700 is the only device not showing graphics at all. I don't think the problem is resoultion related.

Thank you for finally taking this issue seriously.

    Hello,

Please provide answers to the following questions (pink or green screen issue):

    1. The behaviour is only since software version 4.22?
    2. The behaviour is always reproducible?
    3. The software from all BDP’s is up to date (4.22)?
    4. What Philips TV is used? If other brand, please provide Brand and model number and software version.
    5. Have you tested with other HDMI cables?
    6. Can you provide some serial numbers from the affected devices?

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

    1. The behavior is only since software version 4.22?
But, pink screen was an issue on all the versions before the previous release and now reapered on the 4.22 as well. I think it was no issue on the previous firmware release?

    2. The behavior is always reproducible?
No, I don't know what triggers this event. But it seems like the power is still on the USB when this happens, even though the power is turned off. It happens after playing BD-disc or streaming and on the next power on. It happens once or twice during a weeks time.

    3. The software from all BDP’s is up to date (4.22)?
Yes, I've done factory reset and even the "complete install procedure". Reinstalled the Firmware by using USB-stick.

    4. What Philips TV is used? If other brand, please provide Brand and model number and software version.
I'm using an Epson projector and also a Samsung TV. It dosen't matter which tv is connected or through my stereo HDMI inputs. The player is freezing of some sort no matter what, and the only remedy is to pull the power cord.

    5. Have you tested with other HDMI cables?
Yes, and on other Bluray players from other brands there is no problem what so ever.

    6. Can you provide some serial numbers from the affected devices?
Not now as I'm outside my home. I strongly think this is software related as the player was working fine during the previous firmware release. No pink screen at all.

I sincerely hope this issue is getting the upmost attention as it is very annoing.
    Thank you.

    Dear Philips,
What is the cause of the purple screen?
I think it's rather weird that this issue was not a subject on the previous fw, but was so on even earlier releases, and now has reappered again. Is this realy a hardware issue?
    Philips, can you please answer?

Look at the precious posting,,, I can't see any answer?
    Why?

Does this mean that nobody is working on the purple screen issue? Again: I would argue that this is not Hardware related as this fault was not happening on the previous firmware. But, since you are not able to answer this simple question: what is the cause of the purple screen, we would never know.
I'm not willing to hand in the player for service, when I don't know what is going to be changed, and that the player will work better at all afterwards?

What about missing gfx when playing FLAC? And the other problems? Are there anyone working on this? Why is this so hard to fix? Every other device I have, including your own Streamium, is showing gfx, but not the BDP 9700.

Rafal: I would like to know:
    1. Why do I have to have the player serviced?
    2. Why wasn't this a problem on the prev. fw?

I can't have the player serviced when I don't know what is wrong? I can't understand why it is so hard to say what has to be changed and why? You have managed to reproduce the error, but still can't say?
    Why the secrecy?

Here you did in fact fix the purple screen over DVI with software (I expect the same problem to be evident over HDMI)...::::
    System Software Version 3.85.10
    • Purple screen/Green screen during wake-up of device when DVI is connected.

Why has this suddenly changed from beeing a software problem to hardware, and again: what is the hardware problem?
This problem was not at all happening in my case on the previous software release. I think you are just making things worse, and you are showing us a low level of support.

I'm possibly spoiled by your competition? They fix bugs in no time.
I'm waiting for reply on my previous posting on this thread...

When will the bugs be fixed?
