Question TV - PC connection (Help)

    Hi!

I have a Philips 32PFL4508K and I haven't got any CD in the box and I have not the code that is requested in the website to download Wifi connection to connect the tv to the PC and the TV displays the screen from my PC..
Or is there any other way to reproduce multimedia content (Pictures, music, movies, videos.. etc) that is in my PC in my TV without cables?.. they both are connected to the same wifi network and when in my TV, I browse in "Network" I can only see a couple things in my PC hard drive and even can not play them in the TV..
Someone can help me with some advice How to display my PC screen in the TV or reproduce my multimedia content in my TV without cables?.

My PC is an HP with W7

I already updated the TV software.

Thanks in advance for your help!
    Best Regards!!

    Hi Thony.

I'm assuming you are referring to WiFi Media Connect when you mention that you did not get any CD in the box?

WiFi Media Connect is however not supported on your 4508.

To use the TVs Browse Network feature you need to ensure the files you wish to play are:

    1. In a supported file format
    2. Permission to share on network is enabled

Try to use Window Media Player as a media server and ensure that your codecs are up to date.

Check the TV user manual for supported file formats:

    http://philips.to/LhpVQf
    (Page 70 onwards)

    Best regards,

    Hi Ina,
Thanks for the info about the WiFi media connect, it's a pity :-(
I'm using the WMP as media server but the problem is that WMP doesn't support for example .mkv files but yes the TV.
I'd like to know, How to display my laptop's screen on the TV wirelessly?, and also How to use other media server that supports more formats?.

    Thanks in advance!
    Anthony

    Hi Anthony.

WMP can support MKV files, but it requires that you update the codecs for Windows 7 (WMP). You can find more information on the Microsoft support pages regarding how to do this.

Unless your laptop supports the Miracast standard and WiDi it is not possible to wirelessly mirror the laptop screen on the TV. Have a chat with your laptop manufacturer regarding if it supports this though.

I can't really recommend any media servers as such as they are 3rd party, but I know other users have different preferences, such as Twonky, Serviio and Plex.

    Best regards,
    Ina
