    42pfl7655 remote issue

    Hi,

I have the 42pfl7655 tv and connected this to my HTS Cambridge audio 551R to play the tv sound.
I use the ci+ module to watch tv in HD and have connected the 551R with an HDMI cable in ARC mode. The sound is great but when I want to volume +/- the 551R with the remote control, my TV is switching channels +/- at the same time.

    Things I've tried:
    - using an universal remote logitech smart control, still the same problem.

I guess the frequency of the vol +/- buttons from the 551R are the same for the tv to switch channels +/-.
However when I use the philips tv remote and switch channels +/- my 551R is not responding at all.

So it is a very weird problem that only influence the TV.
Please help me fix this problem.

    Hi rlxt

Full EasyLink (HDMI-CEC) cannot be guaranteed between different models and manufacturers unfortunately.

Please try to disable the EasyLink Remote Control feature:

HOME > [Setup] > [TV settings] > [EasyLink] > [EasyLink Remote Control] > [Off].

If the issue still occurs, please try to disable the EasyLink feature all together.

If you still have issue thereafter, please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi Ina,

Still the same problem. The 551R isn't CEC certified, but has AVR.
I think, the problem has to do with the double function of the vol+/- button (551R), this button also used to move up/down in the menu's of the 551R. I guess they are on the same frequency as the button to change channel +/- and go left/right in the menu's from the 42pfl7655.
My knowledge about remotes and their frequency's are out of my league, could you help me on that one?
    regards Rlxt

    Hi Rlxt,

So you are saying the issue is still there, is this also with EasyLink completely disabled?

If yes, then it's probably more likely that the infrared signal of the 551R remote isn't compatible with the TV infrared receiver due to the reasons you said above.

The TV may react differently to the remote command than the HTS, as they are programmed differently.

I'm afraid there is no real way to get to the bottom of it and I can only chalk this up to an incompatibility issue due to IR interference between the devices.

    Best regards,
    Ina

Yes that is what I meant, even with easylink disabled the tv is reacting on the vol-/+ buttons of the 551r remote. Even when I totally disconnect the 551r from the power source and tv, the tv is reacting on these actions. Too bad we can't do anything About it. Thanks for the help though, I'll look for an other tv.
