    BDP9700/12 Rejects upgrade to 4.19

    Hi People.

Have been trying to upgrade my DBP9700/12 ( Dutch) with the new software ( from 3.92 to 4.19). Thru USB because the network claims there is none. Downloaded from the support site ( bdp9700_12_fus_nld.zip). unzipped to USB. Software is recognized and uploaded but when finishes I get the message '.... FE failed' '... BE success'. Tried both the back and front USB ports. Tried several USB sticks ( including brand new one). Tried resetting to Factory defaults prior to upgrade by resetting, switching off, disconnecting from mains, wait 5 minutes, reconnect, switch on, (re)perform upgrade. No success whatsoever.

Network upgrade doesn't work at all ( no update found).

Bit at a loss here. Anybody got a hint?

    Hi,

    try the following:
    - pull power cord for 2-3 minutes
    - format USB stick with FAT
    - copy update on USB stick
    - rename folder UPG to UPG_ALL
    - start BDP
    - insert stick
    - start update

    Hi

Tried all that to no avail. Funy thing is of course that when trying a networking update i get the message there is none. :-)

Meanwhile I have contacted Philips Tech. They believe it is most likely an error in the software itself. So for now I'll close the topic and see what happens.

    Thanks for your help.
