Angry No sound on PAUSE recordings

    Hi,

I have bought 42PFL6678K/12 and I'm really disappointed till now.

TV is slow (it takes like 30seconds to turn on to be functional), low processing power (my Samsung smartphone has better processor and RAM then TV), SMART TV function is lacking features and so on.

But biggest problem is the inability to pause programs. When I pause them, the picture gets recorded and playbacked when I press play, but there is no sound!

I'm using USB3.0 external hard drive (500GB, power from usb port) with latest TV FW.

Also, why can I not record program while watching something over HDMI? I understand one Tuner limitation, but we are in 2014, processing power is easy to get..

An up to 30 seconds start up time is within sepcifications for your TV. You can perhaps look at the manual Quick Start feature for times where you woudl like your TV to come out of standby faster.

Sounds strange. What is your channel provider/country? Do you use a CAM module / CI+ card? Does this happen on all channels? SD or HD?

This is indeed a limitation of the recording feature.

    Best regards,

    It happens on all channels.

I'm from Slovenia, using SiOL programm scheme from local provider cable network.

I'm not using and cards or modules.

    Anything new on this matter?

I have go and checked again and I found channel on which sound records. ONly difference between channels is that the one able to record sound is MPEG 2/0 while the rest is MPEG 1/0.

    Hi SubjectX,

I haven't come across this before. I'm going to have to look into this for a bit.

    Thanks for the extra information!

    Hi SubjectX,

I have looked further into this and am unable to determine why you are unable to record sound on some channels.

The only thing I can say is that your cable provider hasn't certified our TVs for their service, so therefore we cannot guarantee that all broadcast functions (including recording) work with this provider.

    Best regards,
    Ina
