    Unhappy Samba an DLNA probelm

    Model: HTB3510

    Problem:
I runs SAMBA and USHARE on the linux server which contains media files.
When I try to access SMB, I am prompted with user and password credentials, but there is no access rules set, and any other client like PC can access anonymous without trouble.
On the other side, when I try to play movies like .mkv .rmvb through DLNA, the cinema can play almost nothing, noticing the media format is not support. However, if these movie files copy to U-disk, and plug to the cinema directly, play back is all OK. As same as the SMB, any other devices like PC, smart phone, TV can play it well throug DLAN.
Why? How can I resolve these problem?

    Hi aifeifei,

in this case I'd suggest to try a different DLNA server.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

I'd recommend you to try miniDLNA. Check openwrt support community which can help.

Hi Vaga. thx for your advice. minidlna works fine, it seems to be more compatible than ushare.
however, the cinema cannot access to samba, i really have no idea. what i can do is just waiting the service centre comes to upgrade the firmware and try again.
