    Hi SubjectX,

Please ensure that Quick Start is not enabled in TV menu.

If the HDD is not formatted for recording it could also be down the the standby software of the HDD, if any is installed.

    Best regards,

I have it set to Auto setting on Quick Start.. Is that a problem? I cannot have a TV-formatted disk plugged in non-stop with Quick Start function on?

If that is the case, its a bit stupid, since Quick Start function is there to start TV quickly, but pluging and un-pluging the disk takes some time. Even more stupid, since I have a disk dedicated only for TV recordings.

    Hi SubjectX,

Yes, this is the reason why the HDD doesn't go into standby.

Quick Start puts the TV into a different kind of standby which is not as deep as regular standby. In essence (though not exactly) the TV screen is merely turned off, while many of the TV functions are still active in the background.

    Best regards,
    Ina
