PFL8008 and Samsung Galaxy S4 Miracast?

    Hello,

I have a 55PFL8008K TV and want to buy a Samsung Galaxy S4, both are Wifi Miracast certified, but will it work?
I can't find the solution anywhere on the www, only that some other philips models like the 5008 have trouble with miracast.

    Thanks for helping

    Hi,

it depends. You need to ask Samsung if they can establish an Miracast connection WITHOUT HDCP, cause the 8008 does not support HDCP during Miracast.

    Hi Toengel,

Just read your German wordpress blog/site. Thanks for the info on the various compatible and not compatible phones with the Philips TV's. Can you confirm if the Nexus 5 Miracast fully works with the 8008?

For other forum members: source: Toengel's Philips Blog / TP Vision Blog / WOOX Innovations Blog

For Miracast to work you will need
    * Android 4.2 and up
    * Intel WiDi 3.5 and up

    Working:
    Google Nexus 4 (Android 4.2.2) with 7008
    Google Nexus 5 (Android 4.4.2) with 55PFL6198
    LG G2 (Android 4.2.2) with 55pfl8008k/12

    Not Working
Sony Xperia ZL (Android 4.2.2) with (60PFL6008, 171.51)
    Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) (Android 4.1.2) with (55PFL7008, 171.51)
    Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android 4.2.2) with (47PFL7008, 171.49)
    HTC ONE (Android Android 4.2.2 + Sense 5) with (46PFL8008, 171.49)

Just got myself a LG G2 (D802) with android 4.2.2 and miracast works with my 55pfl8008k/12. But when I reconnect a second time the the miracast automaticly disconnects. After clearing the mircast connections in the tv or restarting the tv the miracast function works again.

    Hi,

good to see more and more smartphones working.
Did it work our of the Box or have you had to do anything?
have you installed the Stock ROM or any other Distribution?

    Thanks

    Hi Thomas,

Miracast works out of the box, Android 4.2.2 with the LG UI. I didn't install anything...

Miracast almost works with my galaxy s4 4.4.2 & 46PFL4908H/12. It connects (well, you have to be patient and try a few times), sound & video work for about a minute with 1-2s lag and then after a minute or so picture on tv freezes and that's it. Behaviour seem the same regardless android and tv firmware version.
