    Hi MrHaemus,

Feel free to also include your TVs model number and software version.

We also have dedicated threads in the software section to report any software issues. You are welcome to report your issues there in detail as well.

    Best regards,

From bad to worse: When i turned on the tv today a new firmware was found. I did what the tv suggested and started the installation. In the middle of the last "blue line" the installation stopped and nothing happend for a while. Then an error message appeared saying the firmware could not be upgraded, to turn the tv off and restart it. But now my tv is dead !!
Only thing alive is the red dot blinking.

Is there any "recovery mode" or something i can do?

    Hi MrHaemus,

    Please try the following:

Unplug the power cord > wait 30 seconds > re-plug the power cord > Wait 1 minutes

    Repeat another 2 times.

    Best regards,

    Hi Ina

That did not work at all.
Exactly what should happen with this procedure?

    Hi MrHaemus,

    Try this:

Turn off the TV with the power button on TV. Ensure the TV is off by pressing any button on the remote. The standby LED should not flash at all.

Download the software from the support site, unzip and put the autorun.upg file on an empty USB stick:
    http://philips.to/1ecYiFH

    When ready do the following:

    1.
Press and hold the DOWN arrow button on the remote.

    2.
Whilst still pressing the DOWN arrow button, switch on TV using the button on side of TV.

    3.
This will initiate the forced upgrade. You will see a window telling you to insert a USB stick with firmware. You can now let go of the arrow DOWN key.

    4.
Insert USB and follow on-screen instructions.

    Best regards,
    Ina

This same problem happened to me last dicember. Long story short the tv had to be taken to repair lab where they changed the mainboard.

You won't solve anything with obscure procedures, the tv is dead and no voodoo techniques are useful but the swap of mainboard with a new one.

Sorry for you, I know how it feels...

    Hi Ina,

I have the exact same problem. The TV suddenly turned off and never got back on again.
The red indicator on front blinks twice every ~3 seconds.

I tried all the steps you wrote to MrHaemus, but no success.

    The TV model is 42PFL6008K.
I bought it only 3 weeks ago...

    Please help me, I'm frustrated....
    Thank you.

It seems like my tv's mainboard will have to be replaced. On tuesday 22 april a technician will come to my home and examine the tv.

    Hi MrHaemus,

So according to what you say, I should take it to a technician?
More likely a Hardware issue than a Software issue?
