How to play songs from a PC

    Hi

Great with the airstudio+ app for ios but what about using the speakers from your PC?

How do use the speakers from Spotify on my PC?

    Kind regards,
    Michael

    Dear Michael,

If you want to stream your music through Spotify, you need to have the desktop application installed on your computer. Spotify offers this official reason for employing a desktop program, as opposed to a web-based one: “By installing Spotify as a stand alone application you get a much better user experience and audio quality compared to web-based sites.”

Also, the application helps you sync up your local files, your mobile devices, and your iPod from one place, which you can’t easily do over the web.

    Kind regards,

    Dear Mike,

We may have confused you on this. For more info on playing back Spotify music from PC to your AW speaker, you can refer to this sticky post:

Well, there is at this point no single PC-APP available, which does both (Spotify & Music).

    The simplest way for ...

    a) Spotify is to use the control of the device via a Browser (which is a backdoor method).
You need to run Google Chrome or Safari (not IE).
Just type in the browser <IP-ADDRESS of AW-Speaker>:8889/index.
E.g. if you AW Speaker uses the IP 192.168.178.32 you type ...

    192.168.178.32:8889/index

(The units IP can be found via Airstudio APP --> Device Settings / Device ID).
(If you want a fixed IP, you may need to do so from the router -- reserve static IP for MAC).

    b) Music from the PC you could stream / push via the TwonkyMedia Manager (which Philips did
include in the bundle you bought. On the quick start guide you've the info how to install and
download). Be warned, there is a small bug in this SW --> it appears not to move automatically
to the next song ... (so you might use instead a SW like TwonkyBeam or even the SW you can
download via www.twonky.com/downloads --> the Server). If you trust Windows, you could also
use the PLAY TO function of WMP11 (or 12).

The unit in general is meant for an APP control, rather than a PC control. ...
