Unhappy Subtitles when Streaming from Humax HDR Fox T2

Hi there. Hope someone can help. I've just bought a 24PFL4208 for the bedroom, mainly so that I can stream recorded TV from a Humax HD recorder attached to main TV (37PFL9408) in lounge. Streaming itself is not a problem (if a bit cumbersome) but I cannot switch off the subtitles which is very very annoying. I've tried through the 'Channels' options on the TV, and via the handset subtitle button, but neither work. The subtitles option is switched off on the Humax box, and I have no issue when using the main TV to watch recorded material. Has anyone any idea, before I return the new TV and try another brand?!!
    many thanks in advance.

    Hi John0543,

    That's a bit odd indeed.

Could you please confirm the current software version installed on the 4208?

    Best regards,

    Hi Ina

The current software is listed as follows:
    Release Version TPM1013E_002.025.000.001

I have stumbled upon a way to remove the subtitles, but they come back occasionally and sporadically on subsequent days. If I press the 'subtitles' button on the handset, then choose the option 'subtitles on' (yes I know it sounds crazy!), followed by 'subtitles off', it usually gets rid of them.

    Hi John,

There is a newer software version for your TV:
    http://philips.to/1luSxTc

Whether the issue may be solved with this update, I can't say. But I can't offer much support on TVs without the latest software installed.

I believe that even though the option for subtitles is turned off on the Humax the subtitles are still recorded, but just not shown. There could perhaps be an issue with the TV not recognising that these subtitles are to be hidden for some reason. So your work around may be what the TV needs to understand this.

    Best regards,
    Ina
