    Playlist

I have a Streamium MCi900 system purchased in 2011. Previously I have been happy to use the shuffle function on the All Tracks setting. Shuffle rarely works now so I would like to create Playlists. I have no idea how to achieve this. I have tried and tried to no avail. The best I have managed is to have included the file playlist titles. But of course they are all empty. I cannot even delete these empty files. Can somebody please help.

    Dear jeffers,

Unfortunately, playlist files are not supported.

To delete these files, please connect the HDD to the PC, delete them manually and empty the Trash bin.

    Kind regards,

Excuse me but why is there a heading for Playlists? Connecting the HDD to the PC does not show the Playlist files so how do I delete them? Is it me?

    Hi jeffers !

.m3u-playlists works perfect in my MCi900, so just make sure you crate a Playlist with the .m3u extension and that the references to the track file in the playlist are relative to where the playlist is stored and all will just work fine.

Now the easiest way (or at least the one I use and it works) is to create the PlayList with the MP3Tag software, with the USB HDD form the MCi900 connected to a PC.
Just open MP3Tag, change directory to the MCi900 USB HDD and make sure it scans all subfolders, then mark the tracks you want in the PlayList and select File-> Playlist (selected file) and save it in in the USB HDD.
Unplug the USB HDD and plug it in to the MCi900 and let it scan the HDD an voilá.

    Cheers !

Thanks for your help. I cannot find stored playlist files on Philips HDD so cannot include file extension. I have downloaded MP3Tag software. Unfortunately when I save tag it saves file as mp3tag. So when I save next tag it just overwrites the first one. Too much for me I am afraid. Thanks again for your help

    Hi again Jeffers !

In MP3Tag, you select the tracks you want in your playlist (multiple tracks can be selected by holding the Shift and/or Ctrl-key while clicking the tracks in the track list), then select the "File" menu and finally the "Playlist (selected files)" menu entry. MP3Tag will ask you where to save the playlist, make sure you save it in the USB HDD.

    Cheers !

Thanks a lot. Just a bit lost when you said 'mark the tracks'. It's an age thing!
Just don't know how to delete unwanted Play List headings. Perhaps delete HDD and reload music.
    Thanks for your persistence.
