MyRemote diving into folders too deep

Trying to use the Control - Media - USB part of MyRemote to navigate through folders on a USB stick to play music, but it behaves unpredictable:

Tapping on a folder it usually goes down several levels deeper, instead of just one level. Tapping on a folder which contains music-files will not simply open that folder, but instead will usually start playing a music file inside that folder. Also, while a music file is playing, tapping the back-button makes it go back to the root-level.

For me, this behaviour makes the BDP9700 player essentially useless for playing music from USB. It is virtually impossible to navigate through folders on a USB drive to start a specific piece of music. And no, turning on the TV for easier navigation is not a solution; I have a 50" plasma which is prone to burn-in and which consumes close to 400 Watt power.

Devices: Asus Fonepad (Intel Atom Z2420 processor, Android 4.12) and the Philips BDP9700 BR-player. All have the latest firmware, which means V4.19 for the BDP9700 and V3.2.7 for the Fonepad. And of coarse the latest MyRemote app V3.26

    I hope you can help!

    Hi Rafal, some additional info:

Just installed MyRemote V3.26 on my girlfriend's Galaxy S3 mini; it works fine on that, so-so smooth navigating through folders!

It seems obvious the problem is with my brand or type of phone; maybe the unusual Intel processor as opposed to a more common Qualcomm..? You probably know better what to look for.

I hope this helps, thanks for all your efforts!!

Newsflash! On a Galaxy Mega it is NOT FINE also! Kinda happy about that actually; makes it reproducible Just tried that on my brother-in-law's phone and it has the exact same folder deep-diving behaviour.

    Hope this helps

    Hello,

We have done some tests with HTC One - Android 4.3 and we couldn't reproduce the issue.

Can you please advise Android version of your device and also confirm that the smartphone's ROM is not customized.

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

Hi Rafal, the issue has been confirmed with these two phones:

    - Asus Fonepad (ME371) with Android 4.1.2
    - Samsung Galaxy Mega (I9205) with Android 4.2.2

Both phone's ROM are up-to-date and not customized
I hope this helps, thank you for trying

If you like I can make a video of the behaviour, would that help?

    Kind regards, Rin

Sorry it took some time to post a video, but here it is; what happens when navigating through folders on a USB stick connected to my BDP9700 BR-player, using my ASUS Fonepad phablet.

    Resuming:

    - Tapping a folder which contains songs does not show the list of songs, it immediately starts playing the first song. It does not let me choose.

    - While a song is playing I might want to play a specific other song. But when I tap the back-button, it does not go back just one level (showing the list of songs) but instead goes back to the root of the folder structure. That is especially annoying if I just want to play a different song, since I have to navigate all the way back down to the folder which contains the songs.

The video does not seem to want to "embed" so here's a link:

Hi Rafal, any news on this one? Have the technical team been able to reproduce the problem? Might be I am the only person using this particular player with this particular phone with a USB stick and the MyRemote software to play music...
