    3D issue

    Hello,

I bought a PHILIPS 46PFL4908H two days ago. Everything was fine until I updated the software automatically (http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/d...=46PFL4908H/12). After that update 3D signal don't work. I tried everything, from rebooting the system, trying again to update the software, set the TV from the beginning from factory settings and nothing happened. The 3D is NOT recognised at all. Also, sometimes in my settings there are some missing parts. Once they show up, and the other second they are not there.

    What to do?

    Thanks,
    Kath

    Hi Kath,

I have moved your thread to the 3D section of the TV forum.

Could you please elaborate a little on how the issue presents itself?

You say that the 3D signal doesn't work, which signal are you referring to?
Your TV is a Passive 3D TV, so there is no signal between the glasses and the TV itself, such as with an Active 3D TV.

From what source are you trying to play the 3D material?

    Best regards,
    Ina

Hi there, thank you for the respond.

Before updating the software, I could watch this video in 3D (with my 3D glasses) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdBj5K30QWY

After I updated, the video isn't showing in 3D anymore. It seems like my glasses are broken, but they can't be. I don't know is it called 3D signal or whatever... it's not working. :/

    Hi marveling,

I'm sorry, you misunderstood. I'm aware it's on the TV, but where on the TV are you attempting to watch this video?
Is it via the SmartTV YouTube app, via USB playback, via HDMI from a PC?

    Best regards,

    Hello,
I have a similar problem, TV 42PFL5038T bought three days ago, I had the 3D image in YouTube application in SmartTV, but after updating to the latest firmware 3d does not work. Is the latest firmware blocks the ability to watch 3D material via LAN or USB?

    Hi!

3D in SmartTV is not intended for these TVs due to limitations of the platform.

The feature was trialed for a period, but will not be implemented in the future as it would ultimately not live up to customer expectations due to the limitations.

This is within the specifications of the TV and not a software bug.

It is possible to watch 3D content from broadcasts or other devices like Home Theater Systems on the television.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi marveling,

3D is not specified to be be available in SmartTV for this TV.

Please ensure the files played via USB have the correct and working 3D codecs for playback over USB to be successful.

    Best regards,
    Ina

This is very strange because philips mentioned nothing about that firmware update would remove 3d play from youtube (video still starts in 3d but in nanosecond it goes to 2d play)
How can i downgrade my firmware so i can watch youtube in 3d? this is disappointing
