Subtitle distorted for National Geographic and for many more channels
I live in Romania and I have a problem mentioned before by many persons on this forum from different countries regarding the subtitle distorted for different TV channels, especially for National Geographic. For these channels subtitle is ok about 10-12 lines rounds, after that the subtitle color becomes green or yellow and for NG is a blue-purple color.
I would like to tell that I have 3 different Philips TVs and for all of them is the same problem.
My TVs are: 52PFL8605k/02, 40PFL9715k/02 and 32PFL7606k/02. I upgraded them today with the last available firmware from your site and no improvements.
I didn't have this problem till now because I used a HD external receiver for each of one. For convenience I decided to give back the receivers and to install CI+ cards. For sure is not correlated with the CI+ cards because with them or without them, no matter, is the same issue. So, is a TV tuner problem.
I would like to know please if I can find a solution to fix this issue because is very annoying situation for me.

When the TVs were manufactured they adhered to all the broadcast standards of the time. When certain channels started to send out in HD format this subtitle polarisation started to occur due to hardware memory issues.
Unfortunately our TVs from 2010 and earlier are not capable of handling this type of HD subtitles due to this hardware limitation. This cannot be rectified with any software improvements. The work around is to use a receiver as you previously did.
We were however able to apply some measures on the 2011 and later sets, so if your 32PFL7606k/02 is in fact up to date with software version 14.105 this should no longer occur on this TV.
