Recording DVB-T, watching DVB-S or HDMI?

    Hello everyone,

I have been searching through the USB recording post to find the answer if Philips considers to enhance recoding feature about possibility to switch to different HDMI output or even different tuner during recording. One of the last answers of Philips dated two years ago was it´s not possible due to TV hardware limitations and possible stability issues.

We are in 2014, what is the status today? Can we expect to have this feature functional at least for range 6000 and higher or so?

    Thank you.

    Hi Jakub,

At this point a few things regarding recording features on our 2014 sets are still to be confirmed.

Some TV sets will have twin tuners, so the option of watching one channel while recording on another in the same tuner type will be possible. Some restrictions with CAM modules may apply.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi,

in 2014 only 8xx9 and 9x09 series will have twin tuners (so one can record, one can watch - not sure if you can mix different receptions).

    Hi,

Wanted to ask almost the same thing.
Is it really so that if I record some TV channel its not possible to watch something else on HDMI inputs?

    Hi Ville,

This has not been confirmed at this time, so I cannot say one way or the other.
