    Thumbs down 55PFL8008S Many problems

    Many problems!
    The control not responding on tv at the first minutes. To change chanel, sound or something else. All of them must be pass 3-5 minutes... Shut down alone sometimes and the control not respond anyway for a fue sec or minutes. Sometimes the monitor is black and has only sound. The tv does not respond to remote control commands sometimes.
    The tv goes into standby mode without operating the control...
    and many other problems...

    Yes. But the problem is more serious.
    It has been at service place many times to change stroke and the problem still remains. They approved replacement before a month, but the official position of the service is to wait at least another month to build one for me(!) to send to me! Unacceptable!

    Do you have an external devices connected to the TV?

    Who is your broadcast provider and in which country are you located?

    I am a little confused about your remark regarding building you a TV. Could you give me some more information about your customer service contact, such as a reference number, please?

    Hello Ina,
    I'm from Greece. I'm living in Athens. The problems of my tv just beginning when open it. It needs 1-2 minutes to open activate correct. When I hit the swich on, open the logo of philips for 15 sec about. After that, come any channel but the tv control not respond for any command. The sound remains in memory as loud as it was when you closed the last time. I have no problem with that but for about 2 minutes not respond for anything. neither change sound, neither change channel, nothing nothing nothing. Imaging to be at insomnia and at 3 o'clock at the morning you should open the tv.
    Unacceptable!
    Some other times the monitor is black, but I can change the channel (only sound)!
    Other times I 'm trying to see movie by external disk. Other times has subtitles other time hasn't. Sometimes has no sound. All of them happened sometimes. I have see movie with subtitles and sound and when I 'll put the same movie again in a fue days, has no sound or subtitles!!! Unacceptable!
    In the internet the cursor is ...funny! It's move so quicky and after that freeze!
    Someday I tried to be at my facebook. The control tv has no the symbol @. The Facebook and Skype is useless for the same reason! THE SKYPE ON MY MODEL TV HAS 400 EUROS MORE THAN THE MODEL TV WHO HAS NO SKYPE!!!! At last this tv is only to see tv and this by restrictions.
    The local service take it 4 times to ...rebuild all the problems. After 5 months decided (the local service) to have many problems and need to replace. But that is inadmissible because they have not the same model to offer me and I have to wait more of one month yet to build the factory to send to me! The last time who took the tv from my place was at April, 9 2014 and they will sent to me more than 1 month yet. I ask them to give me my money back and I 'll buy another from the shop, but not accept it. They says to wait ...
    Unacceptable!!!!

    I am assuming what is meant is that it is out of stock in the country and they are waiting for more to come from the factory!

    The trouble is I think this TV is now out of production or nearly to the end of production as it is disappearing as a listed model from many Philips websites. This is surprising because the new 8 series TV is not announced yet (Google/Android based)

    This is very bad. Probably the Phillips withdraws due to malfunction

    I don't think so. Overall I am very happy with the 46PFL8008. Yes there are some bugs, some of which are unforgivable and they must be fixed. But I am always amazed by the picture overall on this TV.

    I agree with you about the amazing picture but I am not happy by my tv, including all these problems!!! Six months comes and go at the service place...
    Today told me that: they refund my money to buy an other tv! This is good news!
