the main problem is that when motion starts to happen and for example a first person camera is used, the system cant keep up and starts to vibrate and the framerate drops drasticly even on minimal setting. i have some specific scenes i try when new firmware is installed and upon the last 4 i beleive it has gone from bad to worse. the range of motion blur that is visible with for example with a car show has increased.

Is anyone else having problem with the TV completely crashing down, soon after it's been turned on?
For a while after booting (minute or so) everything works normally. Then - Boom! backlight turns off. TV blinks blue led indication light once (I think).
Sometimes it recovers shortly after this, but the image is all artifacts and noise and it doesn't response remote control. You have to unplug the power cord, wait awhile and reboot the tv. After that, it usually works normally.
This is something which I have gotten more and more lately - and I can't quite narrow down what is the cause.
Is my hardware going defective or is this a common problem with current firmware?

Hi antti-la,
Blue LED? That I have never heard of before!
Rebooting has been reported of course and improvements made, but reboots in this way has not been reported before. I'm inclined to think it it's not software related, but more likely hardware or input related. But since this is completely new, I can't say.
Do you have any external devices connected when this happens?
I'm going to look into this, but could you please keep an eye on it and check that LED blinking again if possible?
Thanks!

Hi Ina! Thanks for the response.
I'll pay attention more carefully next time this happens. It's likely that there is no the blue led flashing if even you haven't heard of such thing (is it even technically possible), might be that my eyes have played some tricks with me. I thought it was one which is next to the camera module.
There's external devices connected. One android based media player Minix Neo X7, which seems to transmit some sort of signal to the TV even when in standby mode (It even has a blue indication led for standby mode, so that maybe could be it. not sure.). There's also several video game consoles connected to the tv.

Hi,
I can also confirm the same blue LED blinking few times on my TV and it blinked near the camera module also.
But I cannot remember why and when it happened.

Hi,
the blue LED could be the LED of the integrated Skype camera (if you have a TV with integrated camera).

Hi
Sorry for the vocabulary but I'm using google translator.
Philips 46PDL8908S/12 DisignLine
I raise the problem with continuous reboot TV software QF2EU-0.173.50.0 (Date published: 2014-04-07). This is the only DVB-T when switching programs.

Ina,
You mention two versions about to be released simultaneously....49 and 50. You also mention that 50 is smaller. Does that mean there is functionality removed in .50?
I thought that .49 and .50 enabled HDCP for Miracast. It is not working for me with a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I still get the message that mirroring cannot be unable as HDCP is not supported.Last edited by jonstatt; 04-15-2014 at 11:56 AM.

BBC iPlayer seems to have stopped working. You can enter the app, see the programmes, choose a programme, but when you try to play one, the spinny wheel appears and goes around and around until you get a timeout error. All other networking features are working such as YouTube, Blinkbox etc.

I also experienced a complete crash with all values reset to factory defaults. Never had that before.

Another bug.
With a factory reset TV, it is not possible to set-up both the Social TV and Cloud Explorer apps. If you set-up Social TV first, then when trying to run Cloud Explorer you get "Unable to display this page at this time". If you set-up Cloud Explorer first, then when trying to run Social TV, you get a spinning circle forever in the centre of the screen!
Not impressed!

About the PNM issues, one situation where it always fails: when you have an horizontal scrolling section at the bottom of the picture (most often in ads).
If the "global picture motion" is quite fast, this horizontal scrolling is not smooth and the text -if any- is unreadable, while PNM works as expected elsewhere in the picture.
This effect is dependent / linked to the horizontal scrolling section size (the smaller the worse) and the whole picture motion (the faster the worse).Last edited by FredFBe; 04-16-2014 at 06:51 PM.

Even though "crap" is not a very specific term of feedback, I have to agree with Danny. We paid decent money to get a high-end tv. While issue's like the progress bar for Bulgarian people get fixed, basic functionality like the 5.1 HMDI delay, PNM and dynamic backlight remain unsolved? that seems a bit off, if the electrical system of your house breakes down would you paint the walls of your fusebox first?
