i find it suspicious that i could not login into this forum directly by replying to your comment, i had to go back to the main page, any other place to login failed and with warnings instead of links to request a forgotten password etc.

This product has just plunged itself in the garbage, i returned 4 cameras i thought could do the job for a simple reliable DVR with 4 x 1080p wide angle cameras, i was also offered a ptz camera instead of 4 but i did not like it because it was 720p, regardless of the 720p people are raving that its better because of the fact it moves to moving objects, problem with me is we have kids and i want one camera fixed on them anyway while the other 3 will watch the doors.

Tip for those only interested in a one cam solution from me, there are dashboard car cameras worth the same as this phlips one, they are far better quality and have a wide angle lens, motion sensor and sound pre detection, night vision and accessible live from your iphone,

I believe Philips is dropping this product soon or charging their trapped customers from the lack of support they showed already.

If they do anything about this it will NOT be free, watch out

    Lack of dropbox

Will you be letting your customers know directly - by email perhaps - that the firmware update is avaliable and that the problem is solved ?

And any idea on when it will actually happen ?

    Same situation for me,
received advise by Email April 18th, now, after one month no way to use the devices properly, and I have 8 M100 installed around my house.

quiet disappointed, I started when Dropbox was not the " standard " cloud where we should find our registration, I bougth when the M100 Camera should work in You Tube, after few Weeks I started to use Dropbox, and now once again service stopped.

    waiting the find solution.

    Angry Credibility problem

    Guys

Reading the Smart television forums I noticed complaints from folks who say they've been waiting over a year for some faults to be resolved.

Philips have behaved very, very unprofessionally by anyone's standards wrt this problem. To recap, in mid April they suggested a fix would be available by "early May", and the most recent posts have been even vaguer. Philips now lacks credibility due to earlier misrepresentations.

Also they have deleted a thread I initiated where I suggested folks mail Tim Cook directly to help progress. I purchased my (four) now useless cameras directly from The Apple Store, and this lack of professionalism reflects badly on Apple. I will continue to escalate to Apple. Once upon a time I bought a camera made by iZon from the Apple store. It stopped working too, and many of us complained. Apple soon stopped selling it.

Finally, its clear to me this company has little idea how to conduct its business these days. I would never consider purchasing a much, much more expensive Smart TV from Philips if this is how they treat me for a one hundred pound camera.

If you share my view pass it on. Tell everyone you know how shoddily this company treats customers who purchase a one hundred pound camera. Let them decide if they think its worth the risk to buy a Smart TV costing thousands of pounds from a company that behaves like this.

I'll certainly be doing so. For a long, long time.

Can you confirm that the service will still be free, once you guys manage to pull your fingers out? It has being suggested/rumoured by a few on this post that there will now be a fee attached?

To all, I have made a few enquiries with some media friends with regards to "Watchdog"; for non UK guys, this is a program on the BBC that takes up consumer issues like this - they are interested and have asked that I keep them informed of the how things continue to pan out. So guys, can you please keep letting me have any updates via this support forum.

SOLUTION: The Firmware update containing a fix for the Dropbox issue seems to be available - but only on Android.
today I received myM100 and in all honesty I was suprised to see such a fine crafted product with the most clever base setup I ever came across go failing due to the fact that it relays on a single third party service - without coming up with a solution in time. After initial setup, the M100 utility app on my iPhone offered me a firmware update, which was v6.7 or something. Problem: DropBox-Upload broken.
Later on I took an Android Smartphone, a Nexus 5 with the latest Android Version, to be precise - and I was offered Firmware v.7, released April 30. Surprise, after starting the update the Philips-App froze, then crashed. But, obviously, the cam accepted to run the update. 15 Minutes later the M100 went back online and voila: DropBox-Update works like a charme. So if any of you guys is stuck with that broken old Firmware, borrow an Android Phone and hopefully your M100 is usable again.
Unhappy to admit: a classical situation which I had way too often in the past with Philips products.

Agreed this has gone on far too long. We won't go away. At £100 a camera, if people have three that's £300 enormous amount of money to be able to just write off as one of those things.

If this is a camera firmware issue it should not matter what type of device you are updating it from,iOS, Android, or Windows. All your phone or tablet is doing is initiating the firmware update through the camera. As the camera has it's own network connection and can push and pull data on its own.
So if there is an update for one there should be an update for all and or at least a way to initiate the update on a Mac or a PC. Rafael or some other moderator needs to chime in on this. ASAP.
Or we should star posting on their Facebook page and tweeting to them.
They will definitely reply a few days later and ask you to make it a private message.
Why provide them this curtesy when they can only reply with platitudes?
I am sorry, but I am very disappointed and dissatisfied.

I found a work around. It is inconvenient but it resolves the problem. I installed bluestacks on my computer and with that I downloaded the philips in.sight app and signed into my account. It prompted me to update the firmware and once it is done, dropbox recording is working fine now.

For those without android devices, installing an android emulator is probably the best alternative. Hope that helps.

... it occurs to me that the v7 Firmware is buggy as well: whilst with v6.x the Dropbox upload didn't work, now even when detection is disabled every motion gets uploaded. so, having the cam switched on even with disabled motion- or sound-detection, your Dropbox account is being flooded with recordings instantly.
holy moly - I get the impression that the guys at Philips seem to be over challenged with software production for their monitors.
