Angry not possible to select audio tracks / subtitles with MKV

Since Philips closed my topic, without ever providing an solution. Hereby AGAIN the same issue! With a link to the original topic (the topic has pictures inside, that I had taken to show the issue): http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...itles-with-MKV

And below is a copy of my reaction on another topic ( http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...-on-55PFL7008K ). A reaction that is also suitable for this topic:

Are you telling me that a higher model (6xx8 - 9xx8 series TVs) do not support DD/DD+ in SmartTV and a lower model (40PFL4528H) does support DD/DD+ in SmartTV? Cause that would absolutely RIDICULOUS! That's like buying a € 100,000 car and the dealership informing you, oh sorry this car does not have a Navigation system in it, but if you would've bought our € 20,000 version the car would have everything you need!!!

Why is this even still called a support forum? Shouldn't the name be changed into "find ways to get rid of customers" forum? What happend to "customer = king"? I think just about every issue I or anybody else has put on this forum eventually was answered with either "not supported" or "not possible" or BLA BLA BLA BLA... Excuses after excuses after excuses!

Why don't you guys sit down with your developpers and investigate why the SW on a 40PFL4528H supports more things than the SW on a 55PFL7008K and FIX IT!!! Why is this so hard Philips? Isn't that why the developpers are hired and getting paid for?! To INVESTIGATE AND FIX?!

Where is the "let's make things better" mentality? Why is it "let's make things worse" now ?!?!?!

I HAVE GIVEN PICTURES TO PROOF WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND WHAT IS GOING WRONG. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO SIT DOWN WITH DEVELOPPERS AND FIX THIS ISSUE !!! JUST TAKE THE SOFTWARE OF BOTH TV MODELS AND CHECK WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS, WHERE THE MISTAKES ARE, WHAT COULD BE CHANGED TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE, AND PROVIDE YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH A PROPER SOLUTION !!!

Same issue for my TV 42PFL7008: no subtitles over my network: nor in the case of separate files (and same name) nor in case of embedded subtitles in the mkv file.

Just wait for a new firmware update which may or may not solve this issue...

    Hi rash.

I have on multiple occasions requested specific information from several users, including yourself, on this topic. Pictures are not helpful in this case, the codec information is, which is why I specifically asked for this information. Since only 2 (other) users where forthcoming in providing the information we were unable to proceed and after 1 month of waiting I closed the case.

As previously mentioned: Without this information we are unable to proceed in investigating the issue.

So once again I will request the following information in regards to embedded subtitles (in .mkv containers) failing to playback :

    - Full model number including the "slash code" (/12 or /60)
    - Serial number
    - Software version
    - File container codec information
    - Subtitle playback fails over network or USB?

You can extract the codec information using 3rd party software such as GSpot Codec Information Appliance.

    Best regards,
    Ina
