Exclamation 55PDL8908S/12 and Harmon Kardon AVR360

    Hi,

Since the latest SW update to the above TV, I experience problems between my Harmon Kardon AV Receiver and the TV. To be precise, I cannot use the remote of the AVR without running into interference with the TV.

I have connected the 55PDL8908S/12 via optical Audio to my AVR to allow for sound to go through my 5.1 Surround Sound system. Prior to the SW update I was able to use the AVR's remote to change input settings, adjust volume, control sound effects etc. After the update, with any button pressed on the AVR remote, the TV switches to standby. With another press of a button it switches on again.

Before you ask, I have not changed anything on the AVR setup, nor updated the firmware on the receiver. I have also changed all batteries in all remotes. As a latest action I contacted Harmon Kardon to see if a known issue exists. I was asked to reset both the AVR and remote. No change. I have also used a Logitech Harmony remote to see if I could maybe get around using the to individual ones and control bot devices with just one remote. Same issue here.

Since the problem truly exists only after the last Software update to the TV, I assume that Philips has changed some underlying IR frequencies. Is there a solution anybody is aware of? Is there a possibility to revert to a previous version of the TV software?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Uli

    Hi,

I had the same problem with my TV + Harman/Kardon system. Every button on Harman/Kardon remote switched TV off.
I removed the power cord from the TV and problem disappeared.

    Hi Ville,

do you mean to take the TV off power for a few minutes and then reboot?
Thanks for letting me know! Will try tonight!

    Hi,

    Yeah thats what I meant.
Unplug the TV for few minutes and plug it back. Start normally. That helped me.

Thank you Ville, that solved the issue. I removed power from the AVR and TV for about 10 minutes. Removed also batteries from all remotes and started one by one bringing back the devices. Thus far all works. Thanks again!
