Had a very strange issue today on my 40PFL8605 ; sound gone completely ! Not sure what caused it so cannot reproduce (yet). Sound was gone from : TV (DVB-C), NetTV, my mediaplayer that's connected via HDMI, my STB via SCART...
I got sound back by switching TV off completely via switch and switching on again.

I experienced this also one or two times.
I think this was the case after having turned off the sound via the mute knob on the remote, while using Windows Movie Maker (HDMI connector).
Very strange indeed...

The problem with "no channels found" is a software bug introduced in firmware 140.36. It is also present in firmware 140.37.
It does not go away if you reset to factory defaults, re-install all channels, or switch the TV off from the mains switch for a long period of time.
The only way to go away is Philips to release a firmware that does not have this bug (which got introduced in 140.36).
Why is so difficult for Philips to revise the changes they have done in 140.36 regarding channels, and isolate & fix the bug is beyond my comprehension.
(And my job is to develop software, I know a few things about it...)

They can contact 'Profit Consulting' (no... it stands for PROFessionals in IT
) in Apeldoorn...

Not again. It just came from the repair center. Dear Philips any advice? This problem has existed for a while. Is it software related? This sound drop issue is really annoying. Any schedule for new firmware solving that problem...

Were the two boards the same, or a new (updated) board has been designed?
