    HTL-9100 and ARC

i own a samsung ps42e8000 tv with a hdmi ARC port.
i connect htl9100 HADMI ARC port to TV samsung HDMI ARC port.
Everything is ok...the sound bar works.

BUT: if i connect a sky decoder via hdmi to an hdmi port (non ARC) of the htl9100 i cannot see/hear nothing on tv.
ARC is supposed to pass video/audio signal to tv through soundbar....correct?

so...theory is: ARC connectio from tv to sound bar....and all the rest to the sound bar...correcty?

    Dear poldone,

Thank you for the posting on the forum.

The setup is correct. You need to select the correct source (HDMI 1 or 2, depending which one is used with the Skybox).
It would be also important if you can test a different source ( a Blu-Ray player or a PlayStation3…).

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

tried witha samsung blu ray player brand new.
What happened is the signal after 2 minutes disappears and starts appearing/disappearing...like taking the hdmi cable in and out..in and out... (of course i don't do that!!! :-) )
Is it possible samsung and philips have different ARC/CEC standards??

    Dear poldone,

In this case I would strongly recommend you to contact your local service centre/dealer and they will be able to assist you further with the repair or exchange of the device.

    Kind regards,

Three days ago i had it back with an updated firmware but the problem remains the same.

    Hello!
Welcome back to the Forum even though the reason you are back is not fun! Thank you for letting me know! Can you please try to connect your soundbar to a different source than the one that you have been using? Do you have a different TV? And can you please give it a go without the Sky box at all connected to the setup?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Many regards,
    Philips - Katerina

    Hello poldone!
Thank you for letting me know! It sounds like if your SKY box is connected to the TV then there is no reason for the soundbar to be creating such issues as it would never have left the repair shop if it was creating that kind of interference.
Could you please get in touch with SKY and explain this to them?
    Many regards,
    Philips - Katerina

thanx but you probabily did not get the point.
the sky box is attached to TV...NOT to sound bar.
so it is absolutely useless i report this to SKY.
    thanx

    Hello poldone!
I understand that it is directly connected to the TV and not the soundbar but the soundbar has been to the repair center and you said you only got it back. Such a fault would never have been undetected in the repair center hence this is very unlikely a problem of the soundbar. That is why I asked if it is possible to test on a different TV, without the SKY connected at all etc so we could see with different variations if it is possible to find where the issue lies.
    Many regards,
    Philips – Katerina
