How do I exchange the harddisk?

    Hello,

I have a harddisk connected to the TV but recently found that it is failing. How can I replace it without loosing all the recordings. As a long time linux user I of course found, that I can mount it as xfs on my linux server. I used tar to create an archive, xfs-formatted another disk and put everything on there.

I connected the new disk to the tv. Under 'Recordings' it told me 'available' but when I try to play any old recording I just see a black screen.

The TV is a 46PFL9706h with current software.

Any hints would be greately appreciated.

    Konstantin

    Hi,

it's not possible, cause every time you use a new hard disc on your TV, the encryption is "different"...

Seriously guys, You need to change this. Harddisks tend to fail. I don't see why the whole encryption stuff is in there in the first place. Had I known this before I would have chosen a different brand!

    Hi Elwood_G,

Unfortunately this will not be possible. The formatting of the harddisk is due to copyright agreements and licensing for recording.

We are aware that harddisks fail, but cannot take responsibility for loss of recording due to this.

    Best regards,
    Ina
