Any chance older PNM algorithms will be implemented? I have downgraded to FW 173.45 and smoothness of panning scenes is radically better!

    Dear 'Philips',

Haven't you learned anything, looking at the last experience threads? Like the last 173.49+173.50?
It was raining complaints about the failing Perfect Natural Motion engine, but now, looking at the new 173.51 firmware, you didn't do anything with it?!?!?

    QF2EU-0.173.51.0 (Date published: 2014-04-28)
Solution navigation HBBTV on ORF HD channels.
    Improvement start up behavior 9708-sets.
    Solution for BBCi Player.
    Improvement audio dropout optical out.
    Improvement for future internet upgrade.

If you only fixate on minor bugs, like BBCi player, but won't fix the things that make this 'A-brand, top model televisions' (like my 55pfl7008 should be, also looking at the price of 1999,- euro's!!!) behave like low budget screens, you won't really help your customers. You want Philips (as a Dutch person I should be proud of Philips, ahumm) to keep it's high quality A-brand status? 'Let's make things better? 'Sense and simplicity'? 'Innovation and you' Come on!!!...

Your old slogan: LET'S MAKE THINGS BETTER ---> LET'S MAKE BETTER THINGS!

Please fix the thing that should make this television work smooth: Perfect Natural Motion.

P.s.: on this new Firmware I noticed Miracast isn't working. It flickers continues (Lg G2 + 55pfl7008).

Now that I can enjoy 5.1 sound without dropout, here are some issues I could spot:

    - constant audio delay (circa 200ms) using optical out, mostly noticeable playing video games
    - Still no DTS or AAC Passthrough, but the TV media player reads them fine
    - No embedded subtitles support for mkv files, both via network and USB
    - No .srt subtitles support via network, ok via usb

Here are the codec details of a mkv file with embedded subtitles that won't show on the TV:

Name:	codec.jpg
Views:	39
Size:	164.6 KB
ID:	2513
I tried to use Gspot to get this information but it doesn't seem to work with mkv or I couldn't find how to do it, so it's a VLC caption.

    - I noticed also that the PNM renders some artefacts, but I can't tell if it's worse or the same than before.

Thank you in advance for your work on these issues

I would not be 100% happy but 90%. The situation is much better for sure but being very precise I heard very tiny drops (half a second) once every 10 to 20 minutes.

Perfect natural motion still needs some improvements !!!

Will brave ones or intrigued ones leave here a note how the latest firmware tackles those scary artifacts when the camera is panning? Thanks a zillion.

It is NOT and A brand. An A brand does not have or need a complain forum like this. Never seen and never experienced so much issues in my entire life. Worst thing is that Philips, sorry TP vision, does not fix them. The only fix I see here is "unplug the power cable" or "reinstall the TV". When I owned a 32 inch fat TV 10 years ago, it was an A brand.

    Hi,

My TV (47PFL7008) has begun to reset (turn off and on by itself) repeatedly again.

When I turn on the TV, it starts normally and the picture comes about in 20 seconds. After that, in 10 seconds, it displays source name, activates the ambilight and the sound over easylink. 10 seconds later, it resets itself.
When it goes off, there is no sound, picture, and ambilight, and there is no BIG Philips logo.
10 seconds after the picture comes again, the ambilight and the sound over easylink come, then in 10 seconds it resets again. It allows navigate the menus only during this 10-second period. This cycle continues repeatedly without stopping.

    ---

This error had occured once again when I newly bought the TV. The technical service has repaired (they said so) by installing the latest software. Actually, before the error occured, the latest FW had already been installed.

    ---

This reset problem had always occured from time to time, but as only once turn off and on for one reset, not cycling repeatedly.
While it more frequently happened in the beginning, very very rarely, almost never happened in last four months.

    ---

    At this time I tried:

    - Done factory reset.
    - Re-installed the TV.
    - Installed the latest fw (it allows upgrade to a newer version)
    - Returned to an older fw (it allowed update with older fw only 2 of tries, then allowed no more. How did it realize that the USB is including fw and allow to navigate the menus more than 10 seconds?!)
    - Unplug the power and all other cables for 5-10 hours several times.
    - Called the technical service.
    - Technical service guy said "You should have used a surge protector swich plug". But, we have very stable power current in our building and no overcurrent event detected or mentioned until now.

    What causes this error?

Is this error hardware or software related?

What shoud I do after the service returns it if they can solve the problem?
I am thinking about to request refund if it happens once again.
