i don't want to post it here, because philips is funny in this way not enabling everyone to choose firmware
p.s. i also checked with philips in our country for previous firmware (because one version didn't work at all and the tv was not able to get signal) and their response was really funny...they said please contact out respresentative as we don't have firmwares and they have...almost peed my pants from laughing
if any1 needs it also, post here and will get PM
i use this firmware also...it's the best one (still bad thou)

Please be aware that downgrading of software outside an authorised service environment is not advised.

Hello, since the TV after installing the new FW lags even more so I want to go back to the beginning. Because the original FW on my best suit the TV and there was no jamming TV.
Philips - Ina maybe it's not meant to be funny but sure is...
from technical point of view (i'm a developer) there is equal chance of getting something wrong when downgrading as if you are upgrading
but your customer support really needs a lot of change
i don't know how you can't understand that fluid change of channels is the MOST important thing on tv...what do i care if there is a small mistake in some word in setting menu..but you only repair that stuff...now this is not funny?
about downgrade...i remember last year you gave out an update and tv has updated...then you revoked the update and my tv downgraded...i know you can't admit that but it's a fact...i don't have nothing to prove it so let's leave it...
and if you are reading this threads you sure must see that the software is crap...and it's getting worse with each update but you are still releasing this crappy versions
it's not funny for us customers that we buy a tv that is working (lets say ok) and then after update it's 200% slower. Don't update you say? Well when you update some other electronics it's always an improvement but not here.
PHILIPS used to be great mark but don't know what happened....
p.s. i have warned all of them as you said, but i just feel i need to help them (someone has to and we know it's not gonna be philips)

Hello guys, my 42PFL5008K updated its firmware this summer and it basically started being even worse than before. Whenever I watch a video file from an usb drive it starts to lag at certain points (usually intense action scenes) and worst of all, I can't select the 3D mode, it either autodetects it or (usually) doesn't. So I have to restart it a few times until I get lucky.
Does anyone have some good old firmware that works best for this TV? I would really appreciate it

philips doesn't read forums for these models anymore so let's help each other as they won't..
looks like they thing if they make crappy firmware we will buy new tvs...well we will but never PHILIPS again...worst support ever...
they just force you to stay on crappy f***ng firmware that is not working as it should
this TV was really my worst buy and i have bought too many gadgets and stuff...
luckily philips doesn't make phones as when you need to call someone you would wait 1h to start calling...like changing programs on this tv...
i was frustrated but now it's just funny
bought new working tv from samsung and philips is now in the basement so the rats have something to ea(i'm sure theyll leave my basement soon with feeeding on this crap)
maybe this post is too aggressive, but hey philips, you just don't listen!

Figured out how to get to the 3D mode options. Now you actually have to navigate through "options -> 3D settings". Stupid change as long as no one from Philips tells you about it.
Other problems: pressing "aspect ratio" while watching in USB mode teleports you back to TV mode.
This TV is really a gem of software failure. Funny until you remember you actually paid for it.
Three times I had to pull out the power cord to restart it. It's actually worse than Windows Vista & Millenium!
know if this old firmware does the itv, red button? if you work let me know that I do the downgrade even I, as the philips decided not to fix the problem and not release more updates for this unfortunate tv ... write about the product that is a DGTVi and then does not have this feature stuff crazy, even in Chinese products this happens!
as far as i know everything works with 2.30 version (also hdd...)
it's still bad firmware but better then all after that...
i flashed back and forward 100 times without issue so it's best you try it...
i flashed between all firmwares i have many times to test (and everytime i was dissapointed)
i don't think philips even looks at this forum for the last 2 months so no firmware update will come out...
so as they released every firmware that was worst than before we can say that support for this TV was NONE !!!
i'lll try to contact toengel to publicate this forum and philips art of support
