Fixed: HDMI 5.1 Delay, PNM & Dynamic Backlight

    Hi all,

I was reading the old firmware feedback topics and decided to go to QF2EU-171.056. I'm very happy with what i'm experiencing. Most important the HDMI delay on DD5.1 audio is gone. All connected devices are perfectly in sync (UPC settop box, PS3 & PS4). my HDMI 1 & 2 use dynamic backlight and Perfect Natural Motion (WDLIVE and UPC mediabox): it works fine, not perfect, but much better then in current firmwares! i even set PNM to medium :-p

Basically all frustration of 6 months of bogus firmwares is gone. I dont use any of the smart tv apps and i disabled the internet connection. i guess those are still buggy. but you can always get a streaming box, like the WD live, if you have a few bucks to spare.

    Regards, Lou

You are right, these bugs don't exist in version 171.056.

The issues started with the 173.xxx series. Unfortunately the 173.042 is the first version that fixes the annoying ambilight flicker bug for 24p material.

So it's a bit like having to choose between the lesser of two evils, which is different for everybody

I'm considering to downgrade, it's a shame to have to be this way. What I do not understand is that if in previous firmwares these problems did not exist, because it does not use this configuration base?

i'm not sure i understand the 24p bug but i play 24fps video on 60hz refresh rate (with normal ambilight), i dont think setting the display to 24hz is nessecary to get smooth playback, especially if PNM is working.

The bug is that when playing 24p material at 24 Hz the ambilight has an intermittent flicker in the upper right corner. Indeed the bug does not occur if you play the material at 60 Hz.

I'm really keen on getting working audio (a basic TV feature, I still can't belive how silly it is that a TV as expensive as 55 8008S does not have working audio), where can I get QF2EU-171.056?
