it is impossible to find it on the support page of my TV model : http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/d...=Link_Software

Completely agree with you about PNM. Issue still continuing.

Dear Ina, please inform your software developer team to turn 173.045 (PNM processing code side) back to overcome this issue. I know technical constraints but it is not too hard to solve this issue because it had solved before. Regards

Totally agree. Although not perfect in 173.045, it was way better than newer firmwares.

Right on, I have tried the latest one and will retreat to 173.45 again. Forget about smart features, fix the picture issues instead! So far, 173.45 is the best, I highly recommend downgrading to everyone.

    Hi Waave,

Please do give more info about the issues you experience with version 173.52.
The more we know the more we can do!

Also, I have to remind everyone that downgrading of software is not advised nor recommended. Downgrading outside of an authorised service environment is always at own risk.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Dear Ina,

The main problem with firmwares noticed after 173.45 are especially muddy sliding texts when PNM is set to on if an object enter into the scene or scene have fast moving objects etc.

    Regards

    Hi Ina,

I want to ask some questions:

-- Why do you (as Philips, don't take it personal) insist on using the latest FW to everyone?
What are the risks? Could you please give an example?

Three or four months ago the latest FW was the 173.45 one. At that time, did we all live at risk?
And after that version some features have broken down for me. Some people say similar situations occurred before, such as HDMI audio problem emerging after 171.56.

People are wearing themselves out to explain only one problem, then someone is saying "What is the HDMI multi-channel audio delay problem?". Please come on, let everyone use what FW they want to use OR repair something.

    * PNM issues still continue in 173.52.

    * Random reboots and repeated reboots still continue (and not answered whether it is hardware or software related). Technical service still solve (they say so) the rebooting problem by installing the latest FW, while the latest FW is already installed when the problem occurred.

    * YouTube App menus turned into semi-English semi-Turkish (that is my regional setting) after an update (I don't remember what was that version, I didn't check it that still continues in the later versions). Someone that cannot understand the menus, how can use the app? So they won't want to update until they see a major advantage of new FW.

(the list can be very long)

For example for me, the question is selection of (a) repaired wall color setting in 173.52, (b) best PNM implementation in 173.45, or (c) correct HDMI audio setting and acceptable PNM in 171.56.
    (a) My wall is very light yellowish, (b) I watch SD channels most of the time, (c) I use USB stick for movies and use laptop-HDMI for stereo records and web clips generally. As a result, I stuck in 173.45.

Additionally, not everyone around the users of these TV sets is so familiar with technological devices. Using a TV set should NOT be so difficult as a struggle.

-- Can you merge 6xx8 - 9xx8 experience threads toghether?
This is a software thread so the SW that we are talking about is the same. Yes, maybe the different hardware is subject to the SW, but how can I move or set the relation between the posts in the 8xx8 thread very useful for me as a 7xx8 user?

-- Could you make or share a list of bugs that taken into account?
If there is/would be such list, we can mark them as solved etc. Some posts remain unanswered in closed earlier FW threads. We don't know whether the developers working on them. For example; random and repeated rebooting problem. I am still waiting for that this problem be solved.

    Dear Ina,

The problem has still been the same, as of 173.46. quite a few users have been echoing the same symptoms, but it doesn't seem to have been addressed/reflected by the developers, sadly.
The problem is that when there is a faster moving picture, parts of that tend to jerk/form little squares. In 173.45, the issue is nearly not present. I have tried many of the following firmwares and always returned to 173.45. So far the best picture quality.

Is it really not possible to implement the relevant part of the FW into the latest ones?

I had philips LCD 42PFL9664 with natural motion and it was 100 times better than on 47PFL7008K and whole series. Even on my old CRT 29pt9416 natural motion was better than LCD not to speak new 47PFL7008K with 100 times faster CPU. Shame...

When will Philips finally fix the rebooting problem with the rebooting?
We are told to unplug the tv!
    They can't be serious!
Software 173.52 was released but the notes don't mention anything about curing the rebooting.
    It's just one big joke.
Don't take anymore rubbish and ask for your money back
