I use it also.
And agree - 171.056 is the only more or less normal firmware.

Today I had another visit from the repair company.
I told him that the problems are still there. Now they are going to pick it up, (will get a call from a courier) and take the TV to their workshop for futher analisys. He also agreed that it is software related, and not hardware related.
Hopefully they can reproduce the problems, but i am doubtfull they will. They will test the TV for up to 2 weeks...

See this is just silly, I paid 1600 euros for a 8008S/12 and they've already stopped responding and supporting. The solution to get audio to actually sync is to downgrade the software but hey that voids the warranty.
This is my first and last philips product. Shame really, ambilight and the picture is good but the sound issues, dear god, the sound issues make this tv worthless.

My last Philips TV, too...
No solution, no support, no chance to make it work properly.

hi users,
of the people above mentioning a downgrade and specific working firmwares, and having done so, can you share (in private messages) info, links and so on? no point sharing the links here, i suspect they'll disappear quickly.
My primary (as far as tv go) need here is to have the image and sound in sync.
let's help each other here. i'm happy to void the warranty, given that i consider the tv already broken and the support inexistent, which results in exactly as if there was no warranty. there may or may not be an upgrade available soon, and the upgrade may or may not fix the sound/image problem anyway...
thanks!

Do not know if personal feeling but if I turn "Clear LCD" off:
- I do have less artifacts with PNM set to Min or Med
- I do have less / smoother ghost images in 3D (highly contrasted scenes)
About the TV self-reboot (= while doing nothing except watching one HDMI input), I had some a long time ago and then changed one network parameter (one about a kind of " network time-out" stuff) and now it is gone.
EDIT: change was done on parameter "Switch off timer", under the general settings. It had a default value diff from 0 --> set it to 0 solved my self-turn off / reboot issue.
I am not speaking here about TV software crash (while using SmartTV for instance).Last edited by FredFBe; 07-29-2014 at 08:33 PM.
