CEC and Easylink remote control capabilities

    Hi,
I am using a 46PFL8008 TV with a Raspberry Pii (XBMC),
easylink and CEC works but only for a basic navigation options.
I wanted to know if there is a possibility to enable also the remote built in keybord and so it will work with a CEC device such as the Raspberry Pii?

    Hi shaysm,

As far as I'm aware, our remote controls send out a CEC signal for all keys, but I will have to check about the keyboard.

But for CEC to work the receiving device will also need to have the possibility to receive the signal, so in this case, you would need to consult with the Raspberry Pi / XBMC community or support about the level of CEC implementation in that end

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi Ina,
Did you check about the keyboard?
As far as I know XBMC on RSP supports all the keys including the keyboard...

    Thanks,
    Shay

After checking this issue i noticed that there are additional Philips owners that share the same problem, the remote control built-in keyboard does not work when trying to use it with CEC.
there is a good chance that the keys ID's are not supported under the standard protocol.

how can i know the key codes for each letter of the keyboard that you send using CEC?
The next questions are for the Philips support:
    1. Did anyone on your side saw the remote keyboard working using CEC?
    2. Before spending additional time to solve it... do you find it doable?
    3. can you publish/share the keyboard key codes?

    Thanks,
    Shay

    Hi Shaysm,

I have looked into this, but unfortunately this information about keyboard CEC is not available.

    Best regards,
    Ina
