58PFL9955H Discrete IR Remote Codes
I am looking to get hold of some discrete IR codes for my 58PFL9955H, Cinema 21:9 LED TV . I have a Harmony One Universal remote controlling my home cinema setup...
I'm specifically looking for the discrete on and off codes, and was also wondering if codes exist to switch directly to the various aspect ratios on offer?
Cheers

@Philips, how do i add those codes to my Philips Prestigo remote? as i could really use discreet codes for the aspect ratios, on my prestigo the remote shows lots of icons for alleged different aspects, yet clicking any of the varying icons only ever brings up the format selection menu, not jumping deirectly to selecting a specific aspect
i have a 58PFL9955 for your information.

Hi Quaddy,
Very sorry but Prestigo models don't admit code entry as the Harmony from Qwerty does.

wow, how bizarre - a Philips remote cant do something a third party one can, to a Philips TV! - not good.
so is there any way, my Prestigo can send discreet aspect ratio codes, i think this warrants a response here from Philips really. as they should be answering this directly.
i do have a harmony one in the house, so how do i use those discreet codes posted above? - do i have to provide them to logitech to add to my harmony? - if so, i guess i could do that and then have my Prestigo learn from the harmony *roll eyes*
seems a crazy way to have to do it, but am willing if thats a possibility in theory - thanks for any responses.

@Philips, thanks for your helpful response. Could I please just bring to your attention the fact that both your online chat support agents and the 3 members of staff who I spoke to on your support phone line all denied that anyone at Philips had access to these codes and that I would have to get these from Logitech as the remote manufacturer. Despite pointing them to other threads on here where moderators such as yourself had provided these very useful codes, they denied that anyone within Philips would know anything about them!?! Could I suggest this is taken up as a training issue because as a customer it is frustrating knowing more than the tech support staff who although you can argue with until you are blue in the face, are on the main part utterly useless. Thank you again for stepping up to the plate and providing the necessary details for me.
As for how to implement these codes with my Harmony One remote I, like Quaddy, am not exactly sure of the procedure, but I am hoping the AV specialist who installed my system will guide me through this as it was him who recommended I got hold of these IR codes. As soon as he does so I will feedback with the results.Last edited by qwerty_UK; 05-26-2011 at 12:13 AM.

@Philips, further to MrColobus's request for additional codes could I suggest this would be a great place to publish a full list of all of the discrete IR codes associated with this TV to save numerous individual requests for specific codes. Yamaha just provided such a list in a PDF file which contains all of the codes for my AV Receiver.

@Philips, if such a file containing the full list of IR codes cannot be hosted on this forum for whatever reason, maybe @Toengel could host it on his blog, http://58pfl9955.wordpress.com/ and a link could be provided on here to the location on his blog?

Thanks Toengel, I saw that on your website the other day. Therefore I was suggesting if Philips could provide a full list of all of the IR codes for this TV, if it was too big to have on this Philips blog, or in a PDF format or something which couldn't be hosted directly on the Philips blog, maybe you could host such a list on your website... I assumed you would be happy doing this, and my post was directed more towards Philips to say that users are keen to get hold of such a list of IR commands and we can host it externally if necessary

In case it's of use to anyone I sent the following code to Logitech and I now have an Ambilight On/Off toggle on my Harmony 900.
Ambi On/Off : RC5 0,71 HEX: 5000 0000 0000 0001 0000 0047
Will continue to search for other useful codes...!
