Thumbs down A shame! A replace SCART cable for "only" 60 Euros !!!!

Unfortunaltely, mine Cable for connecting SCART was broken. I've asked to assistance, where I can find a replacement cable . Philips assistance reply , giving to me the internet address for Official support. After registration on Teknema,( and after 3 mail so they can understand I need and "Extender SCART connector"), offert is a replacement cable for "only" 60 euros!!! Are you crazy? A cable will cost no more than few euros and I don't understand why I have to pay so much!

    Hi corvo67,

Every region have spare parts dealers that we officially refer to in such cases. This does not mean that you cannot choose to purchase these products elsewhere if you prefer. However, we are then just not able to guarantee that the products are genuine Philips products.

    Best regards,

so ina you advise corvo67 to get ripped off if he just didnt know as a consumer that he is beiing robbed paying 60 eyro... for a plastic scart adaptor which is not even gold plated just a cheap cable manufactured in china for 30cent and sold from philips for 60eyro?? if philips wanted to protect their customers and not ripped off should sell this as a philips replacement with fixed suggested price. the adaptor i found inside the box of my philips tv original philips or not is the lower quality it could be....such cables i can find for 1.50 eyro selling in streets in trafic lights and working just as philips originals....

I have found it at 19.90 euros on an italian shop. Original Philips! I believe you must change your official dealer! They ask to me 27 euros for cable, 17 euros for spedition and 14 euros for managing the order!!! (I make spedition with national courrier at 6 euros).

    Hi corvo67,

Please be aware that we do not have any "official dealers" apart from our own online shop which is available in some EU countries. Therefore we also can't change this.

As I said before, we officially refer to selected dealers, as we can then guarantee that the products are genuine Philips products. We can for obvious reasons not advise customers to purchase non-genuine Philips accessories.

If customers prefer to buy these products elsewhere, we would under no circumstances stand in their way. It is however up to the consumers to "shop around", just like it is with any other commercial products, including our TVs as an example.

The responsibility for price checking therefore is with the consumers themselves, not with us the manufacturer.

    Best regards,
    Ina
