    Incorrect aspect ratio USB video

When I try to watch a movie from a USB drive that is not in 16:9 format, the image looks stretched. The TV stretches the image to fit its 16:9 aspect ratio, creating distorted images. E.g. the image is vertically stretched when playing a 21:9 movie, and horizontally stretched when watching a 4:3 movie. This happens to all video formats (avi, mp4, mkv). 16:9 videos play fine.

The format button on the remote controller to control the ratio does not work for USB videos.

Is there a solution to this problem? Maybe to fix either the format button, or let the tv read the video stream of the files and adjust (letterbox or fill) the screen?

    Hi Robyn,

What happens when you attempt to change the format with the format button exactly?

Are you not able to select any format options, such as Unscaled or 4:3?

    Best regards,
    Ina

When I press the format button on the remote, the LED-light of the TV blinks, but nothing happens on the screen.

    Hi Robyn,

This is currently being investigated. Please look out for software updates as this is currently planned to be implemented.

    Same problem (48pfs6609/12):

    - Incorrect ratio on usb video (3D or not if the original ratio is not 16:9)
    - The format button on the remote controller to control the ratio does not work for USB videos but only for video 3D

so my solution for ratio: on channel tv, i use format option and i distort images as i can (I crush video) and I return to my hard drive; but it is very painful....

So please i hope a quick fix

    Hi Tonio007,

Which file format are you using to watch these videoes? Is it AVI, MP4 or a third thing?

    Regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

    I only use 2 formats:

    Normal .AVI - Standard Definition
    .MKV - 720p and 1080p

In both formats, I can not change the format of the screen. In panoramic films (16:9), the black line of the top and of the bottom of the screen don't appear, so the usb player streches the images.

Ok, I will try to check them this afternoon, they are files I have downloaded from internet and they have differents resolutions.
I only can say one thing now, the same usb hdd with the same films, play the correct aspect ratio in other TVs and PC
And if I push the Format buttom from the remote, the LED-light of the TV blinks, but nothing happens on the screen, as Roby has said. This seems a problem of the Usb Player of the TV, not a problem of the files

    Thanks
