Who is in charge of picking priorities on firmware updates? Because obviously he/she doesn't have a clue on what customers are asking for since the start...

Tell him/her to come here, please!

This has to be a joke, really...

Why am I not surprised nothing has changed?

For a laugh I have installed 173.60 firmware and I cannot see any improvement.

The TV still says my childrens programs are adult rated. (as reported months ago in these forums, and should be an easy fix (if only because it worked fine in 171 FW))

The TV still gives me chess board effect with fast moving scenes.

The TV is still missing nearly 50% of UK Freeview channel logos (also listed in a previous post)

I managed to 'crash' the TV within 24 hours as the TV picture froze and then went black whilst I was watching a satellite program and pressed the 'info' button to see details on current program. The audio was still working fine so it wasn't a transmission problem! I went back one channel and then forward again and the picture was restored.

Have you noticed that the recent firmware changes seem to be just config file changes? It is almost as if this is a cynical ploy to say "look we update our firmware every couple of months" (yet nothing really changes)

I hope somebody uses these forum posts as legal evidence to show how bad TPVision / Philips are at writing software and what they think of their customers.

I regret buying a Philips TV now.

    Shame!!

And 2 updates without Spotify (the problem was reported by several users)
PNM is unusable, orrible, audio delay, why?

I turn to the 045 version, I work Spotify and better image quality. Remove once notice of new update for those who do not want firmwares worst ever.

Why repair ye not what we reported that long?

The changelog is a list of certain specific issues that has been addressed. With every new software release we always try to maximize both picture and sound quality. So even though this is not written in the changelog I am happy to hear that you are experiencing this.

Please let me know how you feel regarding this spending some more time with your television.

I upgrade from version 045 is the use and image quality of 060 with PNM is rubbish. What about Spotify? Now also tell you that already works? Yesterday we were watching a movie and TV stood alone !!

Johann, you only have words for people who say what they want to hear? I also spend my money on this thing, users do not deserve an explanation of why the problems are not fixed?

    Thank you,

    algiam...
frankly do not understand you ... that is, if I have noticed some improvement with a new release will not have to say, because everything is a mess, and you might as well say that it always goes well so nothing to undermine the developers?
I think otherwise, and that is, we must try to give a hand to those who write the firmware, because if we always say that everything goes wrong, for each release them start again from scratch, even canceling the improvements that were in effect in the firmware previous ... look what I'm pissed off like a hyena for a year because I have this TV, and why I feel hurt by philips for launching a product with obvious problems, but we have to get out of it somehow, so the money is not going to restore them no one for our tv, we must live with it and try to improve the software ... but as we improve the software? only giving a hand to those who wrote to me .... that's all no grudge with anyone ....

Sorry but it is not justifiable to things that working fine, not working well now. In the 171 versions PNM was much better, there was no delay in the sound. Spotify worked perfectly until two updates already reported and do not deign to restore.

The least that Philips should do is stop deceiving people and say what is really happening and that Philips has no intention of solving problems beyond reorder channels.

I filled each of the templates that Philips asks and is useless.

If you have seen improvement in image I will not argue, as I say I do not compare an extremely bad image (059) with a very bad image (60), compare it to a fairly decent picture (045).

Is that the error was mine bought this TV because it is advised but not coming back to commit anymore, nor anyone I know.

    regards,

algiam I agree with you, but if you have passed 171-173, probably can no longer go back ... maybe for stability problems I add? know them ... in fact today the TV turns off almost never more already for quite a while ...

perhaps both things you can not have who knows ... I repeat ... I better try this firmware, and if you read no new problems with pnm'll tell here certainly, no discounts for anyone ....

My tv is 47pfl6008s/12 italy, firm .60

    Hello everyone
Today I wanted to further test this firmware, and I must say that the improvement on the past there, I fixed the pnm I keep it in the medium, I wanted to dare putting it up, and in this position have reappeared small artifacts especially in fast movements the face of the people. Obviously I put on average, which is my ideal setting, considering the fact that, until a few months ago you could not even put to a minimum ... you draw your conclusions.

If I were the one who develops the software, start from this point, this firmware as a starting point.

Upon strange behaviors (shutdowns, reboots sudden slowdowns menu) did not show up, and this is also a good sign ...

P.S. NOTE DO SOMETHING TO YOU, be careful that our remotes (6008 7008 8008), are radio frequency, to me is a strange thing happened, and that is days ago, you pressed a button and the TV responded with another key, menu or by opening unwanted etc ... were the batteries! once a year, change the batteries in the remote control ... problem solved!

    Angry PNM lottery

ambilight - so you are happy that Philips/TPV change ("mess around") with PNM without documenting that they have changed this feature and what the changes are? I watch with PNM set to OFF. I see end credits and Bloomberg ticker break up/stutter. I am trying to create some H264 files to prove how bad PNM can get, but I need to get my Commodore 64 emulator setup so it can create movie files....

Like you, I also thoguht it was good to try and work with developers and get problems fixed - no point shouting or being nasty to them if you want them to fix the bad issues. However, 1 year later I am no better off - despite posting screenshots and step-by-step instructions (even doing factory reset on TV to prove bug always exists).

Last night I crashed TV badly. What did I do? I pressed down button >10 times in EPG guide. TV locked up with solid red LED and then got stuck in reboot loop. Only cure is to power off and on again. Now if this was "professional" software I would get a debug log and send it to developers. This would tell them exactly where the bug was!

At the minute I am feeling like Algiam. We've given feedback but nothing has been done. No PM from Philips developers. They won't even confirm that they are looking at the problem! Going via Philips support doesn't seem to get results either as others have complained about audio lag, yet it's still there.

what would be the solution, return them to the store tv and give us the money? think is possible after one year? I think the solution (the only one we have) is that which I have said, that does not always mean bad bad bad, but small small improvements ... at least I notice an improvement in the images with pnm on average ... then maybe tomorrow I itself off as always and I'll throw into disarray, but I do not see no other solution ...
