i want full refund for my tv + compensation

    I have tv 47pfl6008

In my manual i read this:

Name:	standby.JPG
Views:	109
Size:	15.1 KB
ID:	2596

Philips call "quick start" function "standby"

By EU law 1275/2008 consumption must be less than 1w during standby !

With "quick start" function active consumption is more than 1w ... almost 30 !

I THINK THAT PHILIPS MUST NOT USE NAME "STANDBY" FOR THIS MODE !!!
I THINK THAT WITH USING THIS NAME "STANDBY" PHILIPS MISLEAD ALL CUSTOMERS !!!

NO MATTER THAT PHILIPS SAID THAT WHEN QUICK START IS ACTIVE - CONSUMPTION INCREASE ... PHILIPS MUST NOT USE "STANDBY" NAME IF CONSUMPTION IS MORE THAN 1W !!!
MORE THAN 1W CAN NOT BE "STANDBY" ... OR LAW IS BREAK !!! PHILIPS SAY THAT THIS IS STANDBY !!!

PHILIPS BREAK THE LAW ... !!!

I WANT FULL REFUND FOR THIS + COMPENSATION !!!! I WILL TELL FOR THIS LOCAL JUSTICE !!!

I WANT OFFICIAL ANSWER FROM PHILIPS !!!

And let all customers that agree with me to say this here.

I was just wondering if there is a way to report this to the EU.
Philips seems to be not that pleased with is reactions.

    Guys,

I tried to post my true opinion and rate my TV model on the Philips web site.

Following all their post rules, I tried 4 times to honnestly say what is good and what is bad about this product but I've been "moderated" each time.

Conclusion ? : Unless you give their products a good rating you cannot write your sincere opinion on the Philips web site.

I've been told that Philips is now owned by chinese capital. That probably explains why...

@ecazin I had the same, i have a 47PFL6158, and this thing is a nightmare. I tried to get rid of it and get my money back, but no way. So if this is the way to payback Philips for this horrible TV, I 'm in.

Today I'm going to buy a power consumption meter myself, I've received the second higher-than-normal power bill in a row and I want to find out if my Philips 6158S is the culprit...

Now that this is mentioned I am curious about my electrical bill also. All the while I thought the higher bill was from increase usage of my home's clothes dryer machine. Thanks for notifying this guys... I will shut down my TV whenever not in use now. If electrical bill drops, then I will know.

I own a 47PFL6158S (firmware 173.45, you have to beat me with a steel bar to make me switch to a newer firmware). I've bought a power meter and conducted a few quick tests.

Switched on the tv set and the meter said it was consuming around 50W, when fully on. No apparent signs of differences with or without ambilight.

Then I switched off the tv via remote control and the meter said it was consuming 0.5W in standby.

Then again I switched it on and again off, but this time via the back panel button. This way I thought the tv should be "dead", instead I've found it was still consuming 0.5W. So I should assume that the tv is still in standby mode, even if you can't switch it on via remote control and the standby led is off.

Is this a normal behaviour? Because I don't think so...

Note that I factory resetted my tv prior starting my tests, so no "quick start" settings should have been operating at that time and I double checked "quick start" settings were switched to off.

    Any opinions?
