problems with connection 47pfk7109 and htl4111

    I bought a new tv, a 47pfk7109 including a soundbar htl4111.
I have connected both using a hdmi cable, set easy link on yes, set arc on yes on the tv and indeed, when I start my tv, the soundbar is automatically started as well, but:

    1. first sound plays through my tv
    2. then it becomes silent
    3. it takes up to one minute before a message about the arc-connection appears on my tv
    4. and after some more delay I will have sound via the soundbar

So: why is this taking so long

also: if i interrupt this long process by setting the volume using my remote, it will be disturbed in most of the time will result in no sound at all (neither from my tv nor my soundbar).

And moreover: the soundlevel of the sound using my tv speakers is much higher than of the soundbar. Even setting the soundbar to max does not help. I can barely get a reasonable volume level from the soundbar after all.

How to change this, or is this a software problem?

My tv has the most recent software that is available through the support pages of philips.

the above situation was partly due to problems with my tv in combination with my humax decoder (not solved, but there is a workaround for it, see http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...3101#post73101).

Still, there is a similar problem when I use my philips bluray player (model BDP7500B2/12) with my tv and soundbar.

When the bluray is playing a dvd or blu-ray with dolby surround sound (3.1 or 5.1), sound drops on my soundbar and i can hardly get it on a level such that I can hear what people are saying in the movie.

As long as the sound on dvd or bluray is in normal stereo, there seems to be no problem.

Looks like passing multichannel sound using hdmi from bluray to tv and next from tv to soundbar does not work correctly...
