    Ambilight only

Hi, with the Philips 8008 is it possible just to turn just the ambilight on? I could do this with my old philips - just by pressing the ambilight button on the remote when the tv was in standby. However with the newer model it doesn't seem to work without the tv being on? Perhaps it's a setting I've missed. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Tim.

It is possible but rather than just a static colour, its like a lava lamp with 3 themes. You activate it by pressing the ambilight button when it is in standby BUT it will not work if you have activated the quick start feature in the TV menus. This is the feature where it the TV switches on immediately rather than having the Philips logo on the screen for 10 seconds.
