HTB5540D/94 issues with seeking/resuming MKV files and playing Bluray ISO

    Hi,

I posted the same topic couple of days back but it never appeared in the list, it seems mods forgot to approve the topic.

I am having issues with MKV and bluray ISO files playing through HDD.

    1. MKV files do not have any issue playing but if I stop the video and play again the Resume feature is not working. Also I am not able to seek to a particular duration as if I see info it shows duration as couple of seconds or minutes however it is of much longer duration. I have checked codec etc.. and all works fine. I also checked the ul;d youfiles using Philips media player and files are seekable.

    2. Issue with ISO file is that it starts to play the files as per numbering of the file one after the other and not as per the playlist file. I have checked the file and it is not protected and works fine in Philips media player.

The above mentioned issue are only with the bluray player and not with Media player I have so I am assuming the file format is correct.

Please could you advice how to fix this issue.

    Thanks,
    Nitin

Just tried converting the container to m2ts (absolutely no re-encoding of video or audio) and it works so it seems to be a problem with MKV format only.

    Hello Nitin,

    Thank you for detailed information.

    1) MKV Overall bit rate - 33.2 Mbps is quite high, the HTB supports up to 25Mbps (for AVC/H.264) and this could cause the issue with browsing the file.

    2) ISO files - this is normal behaviour. It usually plays the files accordingly to alpha-numerical order.

    Hope this information helps.

    Kind regards,
    Sarka

    Hi Sarka,

    Thanks for the update.

    1. MKV: The issue is also there for small file size and lower bitrate ~3000 so seems to be an issue with the player.

    2. ISO: ISO file should play as per the playlist and not as files sequentially.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks,
    Nitin
