HTB3560 - no sound when watching TV (ARC to ARC)

    Hi,

I bought this HTS a few days ago and I still can't get it to work.

EasyLink etc. is activated and I can watch blu-ray dvd's and listen to music on my mp3 player with the aux-cable.

My TV is Philips 42PFL5405H and there is an HDMI(1) ARC.

When I try and change it to "amplifer" on the tv, it says "failed" and goes back to the tv speakers.

When I try and set it up from the HTS (Setup > EasyLink > Audio Mapping Input) it says no hdmi devices found.

I have been in contact with Philips Support the last few days, but no conclusion.

Ps. I bought a High Speed 2.0 HDMI cable a few days ago, since Philips Support thought my old HDMI cable wasnt compatible. - If I can't get it to work, is there another way to get surround sound when watching tv, maybe another form of cable? I would like the sound to be as good as it gets of course.

    Kind Regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Does your cable support audio return? Have you tried applying factory settings in your HTB3560?

    Please let us know.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

I got it to work with taking my DVI(PC) to HDMI(TV) cable out. If I change the cable to a HDMI to HDMI there is no problems. Weird :-)

One issue I have when watching TV with the HTB3560 speakers (on ARC), is that the display on HTB3560 saying ARC then suddently change to "dolby" and the sound is gone, it then comes back with ARC, and goes off again with "dolby" and no sound again etc.

    Thanks

And is there a way for me to hear surround sound when watching TV? (seems like my 2 rear speakers is off when watching TV - only works when I watch a blu-ray disc on HTB3560)
EDIT: Changed surround sound options to multi, and it works now when watching TV, but I still get that silly "dolby" thing where the sound disappears after a couple of minutes watching tv
