    According to Philips it's now 1.6GB ...

This is a big "improvement" !
The question now is - Why ????

So people @Philips, is it possible to have some official details about 2014 Android TVs ?

    Why it's only 1.6GB now ?

    Hi,

as written in the datasteet of the 9809 you can now use the external USB-HDD as additional store for Apps...

Regarding 1.6 vs. 2.7 - I think, 2.7 is the overall memory, 1.6 is the free memory...

    Hi,

    it is 1,6GB overall.
And also true, with the latest FW, you can extend the memory with an external Hard Disk.

Thank you very much for this precision.

    - Does it mean that some TVs got 2.7 and then only 1.6 for the last TVs ? What is the resaon of this ?
    - Does it apply to all Android TV (8000/9000) or only to 9000 serie ?
    - Is this external storage capability dedicated to Android Apps or can it be also used for TV recording feature ?

    Regards

    Hi,

    - the external harddrive is used for TV recordings AND Android apps.
    - should apply to all Android TVs (they are using the same software)
