    Viaplay ceases to work in July (Sweden)

    All Philips users in Sweden, I just received a mail from Viaplay that they will Close down the App on Philips SMART TVs effective end of July. I have had a lot of problems with my 7008 but this is not going to help. Does anybody know why they are dropping Philips and also if it is just temporary or forever ?

    we are now aware that Viaplay have deleted their app from our smart platform. Unfortunately we have no further information regarding this at the moment. We are in contact with Viaplay and of course we will contact you with further information about how the situation stands.

    I bought my Philips 7007 becouse that the dealer said that it had the Viaplay app.
    This just very bad......will Philips solve this ? If not i wil by Samsung next time.!!!

    Hi,

    I have an Update for You:

    TP Vision is keen to deliver a rich Philips Smart TV experience to its customers, with a wide range of services, from infotainment and catch-up TV, to games and video on demand. We are happy to confirm that Viaplay service will work again on our 2012 and 2013 Smart TV sets. The issues linked to the upgrade of the Viaplay service have been fixed. You can expect the service to be running again by the end of this month. Viaplay service will also run on our newly introduced 2014 TVs.

    Is this work still on track in time? Viaplay doesn't seem to know about it at all?

    The Viaplay service is now effectively closed down - and that's even earlier than scheduled.
