    BDP5600K/98 MP4 Unsupported after update (2.21)

(My apologies if this is a double post. After submitting the first version, there was no evidence of the post.)

I recently updated my BDP5600k/98 to the latest firmware via network as prompted. After the update, I can no longer play MP4 files via DLNA. I get the error message "Unsupported Video format."

    Relevant facts:
These files worked fine before the update.
The files play on other clients from the same DLNA.
The files play fine from USB.

    Things I have tried:
Turned it off and on again
    Change HDMI cables/ports
    Used composite video
Used a different DLNA server on a different computer
Tried various DLNA Device profiles as suggested by another forum

    Equipment:
    Blu-ray player:
    Model: BDP5600K/98
Software version: (this is blank on the Version Information page)
    System SW: 2.21
    Connected via cable through router.

    NAS:
    Synology DS211j
DSM Version: DSM 5.0-4493 Update 2
DLNA Server: Synology Media Server 1.2-2491

Also tried Plex (0.9.9.12.504-3e7f93c) installed on my Windows 7 laptop with same result.

Most files were ripped using Handbrake with "Normal" profile. Output from mediainfo for a sample file is attached.

I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Please let me know if there is any more information you need.

    Best,

    Joe

    Hi Rafal,

    Thanks for the reply.

There was no indication of a problem. Last night I re-installed the updated via USB to see if that was an issue, but no such luck. Is there any way to be certain that it updated properly? I did notice (as stated above) that the software version was blank. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Please let me know what I should try next.

    Best,

    Joe

    Here is the relevent output:

    Model: BDP5600K/98
    Software version:
    System SW: 2.21

and then it gives MAC addresses for the network adapters.

What's the difference between "Software Version" and "System SW"? Should "Software Version" be Blank?

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Hello,

You have the latest SW version but it looks like something went wrong during update process. You might need to have your player serviced I'm afraid.

    Kind regards,
