    Dear Fernando,

I have been advised by our technical team that they cannot reproduce the issue. The files and folders in their sample player are listed alphabetically.

Unfortunately, you will need to have your player serviced. I'm sorry I couldn't help you any further.

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

Thanks Rafal. Is it possible to send the mp3 player to the technical team? I'm not sure a local Philips repair store will check this.
    Kind regards

    Fernando

    Hello,

Sending it off for repair wouldn't be a cost-effective solution. I suggest you have it checked locally.

Which country are you based in? I'll get you some local contacts.

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

    Hi Katerina,

Thanks for re-opening the thread. It makes me mad you can't admit it's a firmware problem. As I mentioned first I bought a Sa5mxx04kf/37 and now I bought a Sa5mxx04an/12. 2 DIFFERENT players with the SAME problem. I'd rather you said it's a firmware problem and we're not going to fix this because it's old than insisting in me taking this to a repair shop. If it was only one I'd may agree it's not firmware. If it's 2 different units then it must be firmware.

    Hello Fernando!

Thank you for your patience! Now I have received a reply from the technical department regarding your question.

Unless Shuffle mode is activated, music playback sequence is as follows:
    • If you start playing music in Music Library: Music playback follows alphabetical order of the title in ID3 tag.
    • If you start playing music in Album view: Music playback follows track number in ID3 tag.
    • If you start playing music in Folder view: Music playback follows the sequence of PC where the files are copied from. Same applies to the order of folders.

So in order to get the order the way you wish to see it in, please arrange the files in the preferred order in your PC before dragging to the MP3.

Hope this has been sufficient information for you to fix things and start enjoying your music!

    Regards,
    Philips - Katerina
