BDP9700/12 audio interruptions when playing standard CD

I bought recently a Philips BDP9700/12 player and I am very enthusiastic with its characteristics and quality. But I have found quite annoying issue:

In my setup I connect the player to a Yamaha DSP-A1 AV amplifier using a optical digital audio cable (toslink). Almost everything works fine and I get a very nice image and audio quality when playing DVDs and Blu-Ray discs.

But when playing a standard audio CD I get short audio interruptions at random intervals (30s to 4min). The interruptions are quite short, I would say some hundreds if milliseconds, but enough to be really annoying.

I tried several different CDs and also with a coaxial digital audio cable, but the interruptions are always happening. I also updated the firmware to the latest version (4.22), but without improvement.

It is interesting that the analog outputs work fine, without interruptions, which means that the problem is probably in the digital path when the source is the CD reader.

    My audio configurations are:
    Night mode: off
    Neo 6: off
    HDMI (MAIN) audio: bitstream
    HDMI (AVR) audio: bitstream
    Digital Audio: bitstream
    PCM Downsampling: off

Any ideas how to solve this issue?

    Hello,

Have you tried factory reset? Have you tried connecting via HDMI with EasyLink enabled?

    Kind regards,
