MKV files missing sound on brand new 2014 model: 55PFT5209 tv

    Dear Philips,
I love the USB functionality, but I was veryy disappointed to realize that my entire movie collection is missing the sound when I try playing them through the TV

with all my MKV files, I get the message: "Sound not supported"
I have updated to the newest firmware TPN149E_V2.100 and still the beautiful picture is only combined with silence.

My question: Is this something that will be updated with new firmware? Why doesn't Philips support MKV files which is such a wide spread format?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Lasse666,

Which audio codec is used in the MKV files?

    Best regards,

    Hi all,

Same issue over here. I have the 55PDL8908S model with firmware QF2EU-0.173.53.0.
I use a Sonos Playbar+Sub for all audio purposes. My collection of MKV files looks briljant on this fine tv.
However I need sound for the full experience! I checked some of my MKV files, most of them have audio codec DTS.
Would be a disappointment for a €2.999 tv if this codec is the problem
    Please let me know.

    Regards
