    Need BDP5200/12 older firmware version

    Hi,
After update to latest firmware 1.67 my bdp5200/12 freezes while watching movies either over usb external drive or bluray drive. The only thing that fixes this is to turn it off and than on again. Did try factory reset and reinstalling firmware 1.67 but the problem still exists. Can someone please help me and give me a download link to any of the previous firmware versions http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/c...scy=NL&slg=AEN
    Thanks!

    Hello goranzoran,

    Thank you for contacting us.
It's not possible to downgrade a firmware. However, let me pass the issue to our team for investigation.

    I will contact you shortly.

    Kind regards,
    Sarka

Does it freeze right away, or after playing for a while (like an hour)?
The latter happened to me, and I sorted it out by multiple factory resets - combined with clearing NetTV memory a few times...

It freezes after playing for a while, sometimes after 30 or 40 minutes or even longer so when i watch a movie its usually 2 times that i have to turn the player off and than on again and find the spot that i was watching when it froze. I did more than 5 resets and every time i cleared the NetTv memory and the problem still exists.

Well, I had a hell of a time getting mine reset. I had all but given up when it finally worked.

One of the other possibly-relevant ingredients in the voodoo nonsense I had to go through was to pull the power and leave it off for a few minutes after doing the factory reset (and/or NetTV clearing). God only knows what particular permutation of this made the crucial difference, if any, but after many tries it finally recovered and now works normally again...
    Good luck!

(As I've already moaned in previous threads, my experience with a BDP5200, combined with reading other posts here, means I will not be buying any further Philips kit. One of the dumbest things that comes to mind about these units is that updating the firmware with a disc in the drive will *brick* the player. I swear, you couldn't make it up.)

3 times i pulled the power and left it off for more than 10 minutes with no effect.
At this moment i don`t have any other ides what to do? The news is that now i can`t connect to the NetTv.
3 problems with the newest update:
    1. Player freezes completely while watching anything (regardless of the video format) from usb and from dvd disk.
    2. Some Matroska files (.mkv) can`t be rewind properly, if i go back x2 it just goes directly to start and if i go forward x2 or x4 its fine, but if i go x8 or faster it freezes.
    3. Can`t connect to NetTV
I actually loved the player and its a shame that software update can do this. Very frustrating, everything was good with the previous firmware. The only thing for me now left to do is throw at the dumpsters
