@Toengel : still no firmware update online on the Dutch (Netherlands) website. On the Dutch (Belgium) website the firmware link has disappeared all together (no selector for language under Software & Drivers and no links). I guess it wouldn't matter if I upgrade the firmware by using the Dutch (Netherlands) or the Dutch (Belgium) website. Or does it?

link to the Dutch (Belgium) firmware page (with missing firmware links) : http://www.philips.be/c-p/42PUS7809_12/-/ondersteuning

If you be so kind to explane to me, will ever tv pus7809 be able to show title in 3D mode ( movie played from ex. HDD via USB)? Also will ever be able to switch picture from 3D mode to 2D mode without splitting picture on two sides??? And finaly, I still can not change picture frame (screen size) when I watching movies from HDD via USB...
    Thank you...

Dlna works now, but no subs with mkv,dvd and also no playback of bluray, no acces to settings when play from dlna so no adjust to picture ( backlight dimming) the picture gets darker when there is a dark scene, also no fast forward, skip chapter also not workin when play with dlna.

Mp4 uhd doesn't play from usb ( format not support) ??

Hi, is there a solution that the TV isn't getting in a reboot modus when I will upgrade the new firmware? After 8 new TV's I am angry to upgrade and don't understand why the new software is only at the website downloadable with an USB stick and not possible by the interface of the TV?

Yes, the TV repports that the firmware is up to date even when its not, when using the inbuild update feature.

Also after updating the smart TV menus are slightly more snappy, but the channel list and changing chanel is extremely clunky and slow , the remote doesnt work til after about 15-20 sec after the tv's been turned on.This isnt a 2014 TV worthy!

Sometimes the 3d feature doesnt work till i pull the plug and hard reset the TV.

When using the qwuerty keyboard on the remote sometimes the characters i type gets added 2-4 times or not at all. im sitting right infront of the tv, 4 meters away and the batteries are brandnew.

I have an old philips 37pf9631d TV from 2006, the remote control from that works on my 55PUS7809, and its alot faster than the brandnew remote that came with the 55PUS7809.

When can we expect an update to make the remote control experience ALOT better?

I've updated to this firmware and I (still) experience the next issues:

    * Hue connect doesn't work. It shows 40 lights (I've about 12) without descriptions.
    * Slow start (via remote) takes a while before tv / smart TV is useable (smart TV not available, no network connection).
    * Remote control doesn't always respond, sometimes have to pres buttons multiple times.
    * Keyboard doesn't work in all apps.

Not a bug but IMHO not acceptable in an expensive TV: Ads in smartTV an TV guide!

    Feature request:
    * A way to use the browser without a pointing device (mouse)
    * Disable inputs and satellite which I don't use
    * HVEC codec support (so I can watch Netflix UHD)

This feedback is also posted on the (dutch) product review website.
Hopefully somebody is going to finish the firmware for this TV (IMHO this is just a beta).

I also experienced the same things... beautifull screen and colors and sharpness etc.

Sometimes the Ambilight is a bit off or not correct. Now have it on game mode and than it's almost OK.

But the most enoying thing is the remote respond time and the menu respond time.

When I start the TV in the morning in some cases the menu will not go to the Hdmi selection part.
It's stucked... And mostly it happens when the PS3 on Hdmi1 was on when the TV shuts down.
As mentioned at the start I must than start the Pioneer HCS 5.1 soundsystem on Hdmi 2 ( because it's stucked on 1) so the Hdmi's selection part will be selectable as I want to go to the Hdmi 3 my setop HD TV box.
The remote is working with the message "RC is active" but it wont respond. Even all ports shoulc have the Hdmi CEC availablity.

Also I need a Toshlink cable between my HCS and the 7809 to get sound. IMO the HDMI cable should be enough because all ports have Hdmi- ARC.

So very nice TV to look and high quality screen but the Remote and menu is so full of bug's

wondering if there is FW upgrade coming up... also not working from of the TV but need to DL it to an USB stick to get this donne.
