BDP9700/12 with 4.22 firmware crashes at smart tv

While watching Dutch NOS news or missed programs ("uitzending gemist") sometimes the player crashes. Only remedy is pushing the stand by button for many seconds and start all over again.
    Internet connection is via Wifi.
Second problem is after a program is finished and the "back" button is pushed, the app overview is showing dark grey icons, which do not function. Here as well starting all over again via standby does solve the issue, going back to the home screen is not enough.
Is this a software bug? If not, what can be the reason?

    Dear Rafal,

I did what you advised but the problem remains. The only "non factory" setting is the audio. 5/7 channel ambient is switched off.

    Kind regards,

    Henk

    Hi Henk,

Mine has / had similar problems, crashing quite a lot, like a couple of times a week. I contacted Philips Customer Service and they let me send it in for repairs. Got it back after about a week, pretty quick. It seems better now, although it still had one crash since then. The player might have issues with heat, it seemed to crash more on warm days, but that might just be perception...

The cause of this I think is firmware related. On the previous fw my bdp9700 did not crash once, purple screen issue, but had freeze issues, hang issues. On the 4.22 version it crashes now and then. 2-3 times a week with blank, white or purple screen. Philips? When is a new fw ready?
And as always Philips is not saying anything, just treathing us customers poorly. This is just not good enough. We have bought your best Bluray player, and it has not been working proporly from day one. Many bugs.
Please do some effort to fix this!!!
This is the same story as on your previous commodore player. It took ages to fix the bugs.
