Exclamation 42pfl3606h/12 and Soundbar HTL2160T/12 connectivity problems

    Hello!

I have a Philips 42pfl3606h/12 and I'm attempting to connect a Philips HTL2160T/12 soundbar to it. I have tried with RCA cables and coaxial cables. The TV does not contain an optical port while the soundbar lacks an HDMI port so those connections are out of question. I have tried both (RCA and Coaxial) that I connect from the Audio Out on the TV but I am not able to direct the sound to the Soundbar. On the TV I've explored the 'Sound' settings and the only options I can choose from are 'PCM' and 'Multichannel', neither of which make a difference. I've also tried adding the soundbar as a 'new device' but one of the steps is to choose a video source, which is pointless since this is just a soundbar. Can anyone here help me with this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

the TV does have only 3 Audio Outputs:

    1st HDMi ARC
    2ndDSigital Audio Out (coax)
    3rd: Headphones.

HDMI is out as your Soundbar does not have HDMI.
So it is to digital coax In on the Soundbar (Datasheet from the HTL tells me it has Digital coax)

Coax is the BLACK connector on the TV.
Or Headphone our From the TV....

Thanks for the reply Thomas! I seemed to have the connections right. The problem was that the TV and the soundbar had to be switched off, then the connections been made, and then turned on again. It was a similar issue with HDMI and the connection to my computer. If I connected the cable first and then turn on the TV it would complain that there was no signal (the other way in this case)
